Healthy weight, but very weak.

Hi guys! I'm a college student who spends most of her day sitting, but in the past few months I've lost a bit of weight. This was shocking to me as I was not trying to lose weight, and not exactly exercising much. I suspected that the weight I lost came from muscle weight. Though I am at a healthy weight, and look healthy, I don't feel good about myself. I find that I am so weak to the point I cannot hold a plank for over 5 seconds without starting to tremble uncontrollably. I eat very healthy, rarely ever having fast food, but I still find that my body is very soft and flabby. What should I do to start solving my problem?

tl;dr: I'm a healthy weight, eat healthy, but I'm all flab, no muscle. Where do I start?

    Stronglifts 5X5

It assumes nothing about what you can/cant lift starts you at the bottom (empty bar) and builds up 3 times a week.

As it focuses on compound moves and consists of 5 basic exercises alternated it is probably as good a start on strength training you can get.

If you have lost weight without cutting your calories or doing exercise you should see a doctor.
  • Thanks for the reply. I guess I am unclear when I say I do not exercise. I mean to say that aside from a total of about 30-45 minutes of walking to/on campus a day, I haven't been doing any exercising at the gym. I have seen a doctor, but she attributes the weight loss problem to stress because I am away from home for the first time and eating food that I never ate as part of my meals. At what point should weight lost pose a medical concern?
  • In my case, should I be doing both cardio and muscle building, or mostly just muscle building? Are there any recommended exercises that I could do without gym equipment?
