Heat Sensation Right Shin???

I am not sure where to post this, or if it even fitness/diet related, but I've googled and searched and still can't find an answer... thought maybe someone on here might be able to help?!

I've been having this weird heating sensation in/on my right shin. It feels like hot water on my leg, but it's not hot to the touch. It doesn't bother me, but it's just kind off odd and I don't know if I should go see a doctor about it. I think I may have bad circulation in my legs... when it is cold out, my leg turns bluish and I get pains in my ankle, shin and knees, but I have never felt this sensation until the past month or so. It comes out of nowhere, lasts only a couple of seconds, and can happen at anytime (sitting, standing etc.). Not sure if this matters, but I have a desk job and spend most of my time sitting at my computer. I do workout regularly though and have a pretty well-balanced diet.

When I searched on google, I found a mass amount of people with the same symptoms, but no explanation! Some people even went to see doctors, but never got any answers. Does/has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions about what it might be and if it's serious? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like nerve damage to me. My right wrist and forearm feels similar at times and I'm pretty sure it's the beginning of carpal tunnel. :/

Wouldn't hurt to see a doc if you have insurance.

i have a similar sensation in mthe front of my right thigh - went to the GP who sent me for numerous scans and sets of physio - turned out to be a trapped nerve near my knee and the physio didnt really clear it - i only get it if i stand for long period of time without moving (around 10-15 minutes)

I was thinking it was nerve related! It starting happening when I became more active, so maybe I did something to it and didn't realize. Its really odd... but yeah I have insurance... I should probably take advantage of it and go see a dr. Thanks! :)

Huh, so did the dr tell you anything you can do about or if it's serious/treatable? Not that I really mind it, I just don't want it to be dangerous or anything.
  • Did you find out anything about this? I have the same thing these past couple of days, after doing an 18 mile hike on Saturday. I've had nerve damage in my back, leg, and foot before, with symptoms like tingling, pain, numbness, and lasting for weeks to years, but I get the feeling this is minor and will fix itself in a few days. Nerves are weird like that. I don't think it's anything serious - since there's no pain, tingling or numbness.

If it does last a few more weeks, I'll probably go to the Docs, though.
