It makes no difference when you eat.0

when you eat if you dont have time to burn what you ate, it turns to fat. The "myth " is not a myth. Eating before bed leaves food with no acticivity to burn it for energy werareas eating during the day or early evenoing, we do things, like walking, doing the dishes requires more energy than sleeping. This is the biggest myth myth on MFP that is wrong it does matter! Also, our bodies use light to give off hormones such as melatonin ect at certain times, eating during the night or not sleeping at night throw all of these out or whack.
Please go.0 -
It depends. Are you a Mogwai?
tim of the day doesn't matter. it doesn't have an effect on your progress.
however if you eat within an eating window (intermittent fasting) it can speed things along.0 -

Ummm...no.
You are still burning fuel when sleeping. If you did not, it would mean you were dead.
Plus you need to look at net fat oxidation for the whole day, not just a small part of the day.
But...but....
What if I wants to be a zombie?

Meh. I go to the gym after work and most nights I eat the majority of my calories after 9 PM. It hasn't stopped me from losing at a steady and healthy rate at all. I think that bit of broscience has been debunked along with the 6 meals a day dogma. But, you know, eat whenever you want!0

ain't nobody got time for that0 -
Your metabolism & digestion slow down when your sleeping, but the "don't eat after 8:00" rule is pretty arbitrary. Personally, I tend to avoid it because going to bed with a full stomach tends to lead to a restless night., but I haven't noticed it having much to do with weight loss.0

Ummmm what?
what do you think happens when you sleep? Does your heart, breathing, other bodily functions magically cease operating? Guess what, those things require energy, which means your body is burning fat stores or whatever else is handy for energy...
wowzers....
This is now the most inaccurate post I have read on MFP...congrats!0 -
I try not to eat after 10pm just because I think eating a late meal it is harder to get to sleep. I would wait to see how your co-worker does before u change anything0
-
I eat from the moment I get up till bed time and I lose just fine. If it fits my calories for the day I will eat it. Your body is always burning something. I hate to go to bed feeling hungry as well, and I'm sure my metabolism would slow down if I did that all the time.0

Just dont get crumbs in the bed.0

My doctor said no eating after 8pm. I usually have a protein pudding or shake between 7 and 7:30pm0
-
I usually eat about 11:45 pm to about 12:30 am. Sometimes I either log day before or day after. I don't think it matters.0
