It's so awesome to see so many people who know about my favorite places. Now I want a double Sobelman's burger. And now I'm wondering what the Kopps flavor forecast is... *goes to google it*0

Sobleman's? I've never been there. Where in Milwaukee is that?0

Wonderful, and inspiring. I've got about 70 pounds to go, and while I'm making an effort to make generally healthier food choices, I'm not regarding anything as "off limits" if it fits into my calories. I've got a standing 300 calorie burn built in because of my still-nursing toddler, which helps, because I like food too! So amazing to see such a dramatic overhaul and see that it was done entirely while still enjoying the fullness of the delicious variety available to us.
This week's project is unearthing my indoor bike (it's buried in boxes in the basement) and getting it upstairs where I can use it... cuz I'm also a wimp about the cold, and I can't do super hot either!0 -

6. I have to stress this last point because people ask me all the time, "Aren't you trying to lose weight? Should you really be eating that?" or "Aren't you on a diet?" The answer is yes, I am trying to lose weight, but no I am not on a diet and I don't avoid any foods that I love. I DO count calories. I eat approximately 1600 calories on an inactive day, but I eat back ALL the extra calories I burn. Yes, you read correctly. If I burn an extra 900 calories at the gym you'd better believe I will be eating all 900 of those calories back. You'll probably find me at Sobleman's Pub and Grill eating a burger and drinking a Bloody Mary or Kopps having some frozen custard. If I want something high calorie or I find myself hungry at the end of 1600 calories, I eat. I take that as a signal from my body that I didn't give it something it needed during the day. No "dieting" here.
YES!!!! I love this! Congratulations on your weight loss!0 -
I am going about it the same way. It works.0

I am super happy for you!! I am 5"7 and weighed 245. Am down 10 lbs. I have been Jazzercising, and biking or walking to work. LOVE ALL OF IT!!! You are an encouragement to me!!!!0

Very inspirational! Congratulations and keep up the great work. It really is about a healthy lifestyle with a healthy attitude - not dieting. Thank you for sharing!0

Well that is encouraging because we are close in age, and I have about that much to lose and you were where I am now. So seeing how good you look and feel gives me hope. Thank you0

This is exactly why I posted this. I wanted to inspire, motivate, and encourage others. And to show people that it can be done, even though it seems hopeless when you have so much left to lose. Trust me. I remember. You will all get there.0 -
Yay Thanks for the post!
I do eat what I want too then I feel guilty (like if I have chocolate or sugary things) but then I also have them because I had been craving them. I like that you had said if you're still hungry after 1600 calories you eat too
Great job! I hope to lose like you did! (Going from 195...cw 188 to about 140-130)0 -
Your positive attitude and candor is so refreshing! I agree- it's a lifestyle change, and 'starving' yourself and restricting yourself when you're hungry is just not human.0
-
Great Job! Thanks for the advice! (On a side note, I LOVE KOPPS!)0

Thank you for posting this! You have basically confirmed my theories that:
1) You don't have to diet to lose weight
2) You don't have to eat 1200 calories a day to lose weight
3) Your favorite foods are still a part of your food intake, but you watch how much you consume
I've been practicing these for a few months now and I'm seeing slow progress, and you have helped me feel very reassured that I am on the right track.0 -
This is an awesome post and needs to be bumped x0
