      One of my friends asked me if liked "rock music" on the way to a fishing trip.. I, thinking he was talking light rock, like Switchfoot, Green Day, etc said yes.. We ended up listening to Metallica and ACDC.. Longest one hour drive of my life. My ears suffered permanent damage..

      Seconded: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band. Adding Silverchair, The Grateful Dead, Frank Sinatra spring to mind.

      In defense of: Red Hot Chili Peppers (Seriously? I don't know ANYONE who doesn't at least sort of like them), Nirvana, BnL (One of my faves!)

      I like LOTS of different kinds of music though, so I can usually find some common ground.
