But/And/So

Options
A friend of mine shared this exercise with me earlier this year, and it just popped back into my head today. Thought it was something that was worth sharing... It's supposed to help you go from excuse mode into action mode, and when you fthink about it, it makes a lot of sense.

So first you start by saying your problem. Here's an example:

I want to eat healthier but my house is full of junk food.

Then you change the "but" to an "and":

I want to eat healthier and my house is full of junk food.

Then you add your action statement to solve the problem:

I want to eat healthier and my house is full of junk food, so...I will clean out the cupboards and get some better snacks.

Just changing the words kinda helps you put a plan in place. The "but" allows you to stop thinking, shrug your shoulders, and continue being stuck.

Try it!

hahah I LIKE it! It's changing a negative to a positive and switching it up to being pro-active and making those changes. NICE!
