Hi everyone!

I'm only about a week in with MyFitnessPal, but I have been doing Weight Watchers on my own since January, and lost about 35 pounds following that. However, I was frustrated that I wasn't losing as quickly as I'd like, so I decided to give counting calories a try. Lo and behold, one week later, I'm down 4 pounds!

I am 32, divorced, no kids, and live in South Central PA with my boyfriend and 9.5-year-old pit bull. I work as a technical writer (I write manuals for tanks, basically) and in my spare time I love to read, cook, do Zumba, volunteer for animal rescue transports, and go to farmer's markets and whatnot.

I have a blog that I update a few times a week with pictures and my reflections on weight loss, often with some sort of dry humor. If you're into that sort of thing, feel free to take a peek: http://theshrinkingowl.blogspot.com

Looking forward to meeting all of you and becoming a member of this community!

    Welcome :-) I've sent a friend request.

I never got on with weightwatchers after the first week I have to say I find counting much more effective.

I used WW in the beginning as well and lost about 30 lbs but it slowed down and I switched to here and have lost more. I'm sending a request.

Fellow SC PAer here :) Have a 9 month old Min Pin and definitely think MFP works way better than WW and figuring out points! I trip over my feet when I do Zumba but I do love Yoga! Feel free to add me :) -- Ashley

Former south-central pa-er here, now just central! I've had a similar experience. WW woks but I get tired of it, I feel like calorie counting is less cumbersome. I sent a request and your blog cracked me up! :)

I used WW points plus and kept forgetting to log in and count points and it cost money MFP is a free program with better applications for the most part. I have only begun my journey and have a long way to go but know it is the right fit for me as long as I follow the program
