I thought Trinidad & Tobago and the UK were higher on the list from another one I saw going around a while back.0 -

Another reason why I'm proud to be Canadian!!!!
"Obesity rates could be levelling off, the researchers said. For the past four years, the percentage of Canadians estimated to be obese varied from 24.2 per cent to 25.3 per cent compared with steeper climbs previously."

No. We were on the list, just 24.3, so below 25th place.0 -

Hehe, that was my thought, too. I emigrated from the UK, so I'm laughing a little about that0 -
Is it a coincidence that the map of America and Mexico combined looks like a giant mouth that is eating the islands of puerto rico, cuba, and the virgin islands? This is my theory. It's geographical.0 -
Interesting. Nearly 50% of the Mexican population live below the poverty line. I wonder what impact that has.0

Why don't you come on over to my neighborhood tonight for some beers and say that? In front of my family and friends.0 -
Thank God!!! I believe that America has finally turned the corner!!! I want to thank all the people on MFP and SparkPeople who are working so diligently, to keep us from being the fattest nation. WAY TO GO EVERYBODY!!!
Be blessed,

I think it might be a prouder moment if our
country had collectively just lost a ton of
excess weight .. jmho. Sad for any country
to wear that crown of 'most obese'.0 -
Interesting. Nearly 50% of the Mexican population live below the poverty line. I wonder what impact that has.
Average quarterly income in Mexico is about 6,000 pesos. That's 2,000 pesos a month. At the current exchange rate, that's about 167 dollars a month. From my experience, groceries are as pricey there as they are in the US. That makes it tough to choose healthier options, as they tend to be pricier. Folks tend to be more sedentary than they used to be -- just like the US.0 -
Second place is first loser.
Dang it you beat me to it!:mad:0 -
I'm surprised Canada didn't even make the top 25...........0

would it be safe to assume that Hungary, is, um, well, hungry??? (Stupid and corny, I know, but I'm crackin' UP!!!)
Yeah. Hungary took a bit of Turkey, dipped it in Greece and fried it in Japan.
Haven't thought about that silly school rhyme in years!0 -

On behalf of America I'd like to thank Ed Davenport.
Absolutely!!!! Ed inspires and motivates me every day!!!!0 -
America is no longer the fattest country!
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/news/america-fattest-obese-un-144341236.html
Prevalence of obesity among adults in developed countries (% obese)
But not all of those countries are developed. Also the WHO news says this statistic is misleading, because for example there are lots and lots of overweight people in Mexico, but the actual number of obese people is very small.
Also, the WHO says that Mexico is #1 when it comes to children, but not when the whole population is counted. I never know what to believe.
I am however happy that certain European countries are not on the list and it might be worth it to check out their general diet.0 -
Not even in the top 25!? Canada > Murica yet again!!!!
It's Merica* sir :drinker:0 -
i wish i knew how to post a gif.

Currently, there are 196 countries in the world. Being number two means that the USA is "fatter" than 99.989% of the rest of the world... Yeah...Celebrate...Yahoo...:drinker:0
