WOW, you have done a great job, congratulations.
Can't you get a vascular doctor to fix that leg?
I haven't really looked into it, though I did see a hematologist. He never suggested anything more to what I was already doing at the time (year following my injury). My doctor at the time of the injury never mentioned any other options, just blood thinners. I think that's part of why I got post thrombotic syndrome. I wasn't told to wear compression stockings until I went off my blood thinner treatment, and by then my valves had already been damaged. I wore compression stockings for the first five years. At this point I don't notice a huge problem, it's more of just an inconvenience. It's always larger and a bit darker in color, but otherwise it moves fine, just with a bit of lag. It's gotten better with jogging and biking. Only problem now is that it still gets tired quicker, especially by the end of the day.
I'm not really sure a vascular doctor could do anything as the clot spanned my whole leg. It looks like varicose veins from the outside, but it's my main veins which are the problem. I know people can get stents and stuff, but that would probably put me at more of a risk of another clot, and I'd have to go back on blood thinners, probably for life (which is another risk as it'll kill my liver over time and would put me at risk of internal bleeding and bleeding to death if injured). I think ultimately it wouldn't be worth having surgery. That's why I wanted to take a "natural" approach and just do the best I can with building up secondary veins and muscle to help pump blood instead.0 -

Great work!!!! How did you like C25K? I am just starting it. Were you able to keep up with the program?
I finished it, but the one I was using just trained me to jog continually for 30 minutes. Which would be fine, if I could do 5k in 30 min. Instead I was going 2.5miles in the same amount of time. So now I'm using the runtastic app and keeping track of my time. I'm pacing it out the same way too with three days of 2.8miles, then bumping it up to three days of 5k. I stopped for now since I'm in a summer course and I like to jog in the morning and it doesn't work with my morning class. Once my class is done this week I'm going to start back up with it though. So kinda yes and kinda no. It's definitely worth doing though.0 -

Wow...you look great. I don't know if this makes sense, but you look like a babyface kid in the before pic. You look like a woman in the "now" pic...but you still look younger. Doesn't make sense to me, so I prob didn't explain that correctly.
But here is something that I CAN say correctly--CONGRATS!!0 -
