Do you workout better when people watch?

Yeah. I guess I'm becoming an exercise exhibitionist. I swim for an hour every morning in a hotel pool. Sometimes people at the pool start watching. It might just be to see if I'm going to drown, but it does tend to focus my attention on my form, speed and endurance.
I end up getting a better workout.
Do you like it when people watch?

I feel really self concious if someone is watching me workout... but I also hate attention... I'm more likely to screw something up lol0

I feel wierd when ppl watch... hence why I workout alone0

I guess for me it's mixed. When I go to the gym with coworkers I am more likely to workout longer but less likely to try new things that I would attempt if I was on my own. I do like to go with friends however b/c it makes the time fly and it can be fun.0

I think for some it can be very motivational. I tend to like to workout when I know not many people are there, but its mostly because I don't want some sleazy guy staring at my bum while I'm doing squats. I also do Pilates and some of the exercises can be very suggestive, I have to be very aware and make sure my clients privacy is being respected when I'm teaching.
It's really just personal preference and if that works for you I say be the best exabitionist you can be!!0 -
Yes and no. I mess up on the warm ups If I do mess up, I play it off, but I push myself harder and dont act tired or breathe hard and if I could stop sweating I would, but really Im total ly burning inside LOL! So I stumble more and make stupid mistakes but push hard0

I don't pay attention enough to know if someone is watching me or not. But if someone was watcing me I would be uncomfortable.0

I used to care if people watched, but now I can ignore it and get into my exercise zone. When I'm doing cardio, I really don't care if anyone is watching me. When I do weights, I'm more self-conscious, but I know proper form and technique, so if people want to watch, let them. This weekend, a bigger guy at the gym watched me on the assisted pull up machine. I don't know why. Maybe he thought I didn't know how to use the machine, but I do and he eventually looked elsewhere.0

I am usually in a zone so I never notice and I don't care but when I was a fat *kitten* I hated people looking at me and I would hide when I worked out.0

If a girl is watching I can lift 10 lbs heavier on everything0

I hate being watched it makes me really uncomfortable. That's why I bought an elliptical and why I'm going to buy a treadmill too. I'm an awkward person and I dislike going to the gym for that reason.0
