This is day 2 of my MFP journey. This morning so far, I have had the following:
1 cup cinnamon chex with 1/4 cup almond milk
1 cup strawberrys
1 cup coffee with 1 tablespoon and 1/2 of the girl scout cookie coffee creamer
With this I'm already over my sugar allotment for the day. Is it the strawberrys?

It's fine. You need not give a *kitten* about tracking your sugar intake unless you have a medical reason to do so.0
-
It was probably the strawberries, but as tricksee says, unless you've got a serious medical issue, I wouldn't concern myself overmuch with it. Just make sure your Carbs/Proteins/Fats are in line and don't overindulge on the sodium, and you should be okay.....0

Go to settings and turn off tracking for sugar...done!0

I try to watch the sugars as well, and usually exempt the fruit sugars but still try to keep it in check. You'll discover that you will need to experiment with different foods to meet macros. I've discovered that breakfast can blow the whole day if you aren't careful! You can do this! Me and hubby have lost almost 250 pounds between us using MFP!! I'm not the best commenter but get some friends and you'll discover that you spend more time here than facebook!!! Seriously! Also, check out success stories!! They are very inspiring!!0

I wouldn't worry too much about it either. If you eat a lot of fruits, you'll always be over on your sugar, but it's the natural kind so don't be concerned. If you're having candy and crap, that would be a different story.0

I would switch sugar out for fiber. Always a good idea to make sure you are getting enough fiber.0

I usually eat up my sugar alotment very quickly, as well. I am borderline diabetic so this does concern me. However, I figure I'm doing MUCH better than I was 6 weeks ago before joining MyFitnessPal!!!0

The chex has 7 grams of sugar, the strawberries have 8. What is your sugar allotment for the day? Do you have medical reasons to restrict sugar?0 -
In my experience, cereals have a ton of sugar. Read the panel on your cinnamon chex.0

I can't view your diary so...I really don't know.0
-
Yeah, YOU can see your dairy - only you can tell where all the sugar's coming from. m That creamer probably has quite a bit too.0
-
How do I make my diary public?0
-
I figured it out. My diary is now open!0

It happens to me every single day. Not a single day has gone by that I have been under sugar, because milk contains 12g. of sugar in a cup, as does yogurt, and I have both of these in a day, plus a fruit. go figure!
As long as it's not unnatural sugars, like in cookies, cakes, etc. I wouldn't worry about it.At least, I don't.0 -
Take the creamer out of your diet! It's not healthy anyway. Everything else sounds great.0
-
Your cereal and creamer have more sugar than the strawberries. I wouldn't worry about sugar though unless you have a medical reason. Focus on calories, carbs, protein, and fat.0

Did you know that the dry creamer is HIGHLY flammable?
Saw a guy light it on fire during a "Magic Show" once. He showed the kids scientific things that are "magic".0 -
That creamer is all sugar. Try some alternatives which are more nutrient-dense. You could even do vanilla flavored almond milk. The Almond Breeze vanilla is too sweet for me, but it might be good in coffee. I personally like Silk vanilla almond milk.0

when my husband was in college he worked at a gas station and they'd ignite the creamers to occupy themselves.0 -

the food diary should show you every thing broken down, scan it, find what foods put you over. if it's fruit, don't worry. If it is pre-made/packaged stuff like creamer or cereal)- replace them with something not as high.
I record fruit as Quick Adds so I don;t obsess about the carbs and therefore omit fruit from my life,0 -
i looked up this topic because it's annoying me. yes, i had some actual candy last night but most the sugar is from my nonfat vanilla greek yogurt. it pisses me off---is that really how much sugar you're supposed to have/
i don't have a medical reason to watch sugar, but that doesn't mean this doesn't concern me, yanno?0 -
The Cinnamon Chex and the creamer are the problem. The milk and the strawberries are fine. In fact, the strawberries are awesome, particularly at this time of year - mmmm!0

I think it was the entire breakfasat - there's a lot of sugar in almond milk unless you buy unsweetened, there is a fair amount of sugar in any processed cereal, and strawberries, while sugary, aren't enough to blow the whole day. Nutrition label education. That's what this site will help you learn. And unless you have a reason that you need to track sugar or if you diet is all sugar, then I wouldn't worry about it. Balance is key.0
-
I would skip the sugary cereal and sugary creamer and just stick with the strawberries.0

And anyone who thinks sugar isn't an issue needs to watch this video:

Milk products have a lot of sugar in them. I am trying to watch my carbs and sugar and I can put a serious dent my sugar allotment on a cup of 0% plain Fage yogurt which has 9g of sugar.
So like everyone else said, if there is no reason to watch your sugar than don't worry about it. If you are trying to watch your sugar than try to swap stuff out as you go along and be more mindful of labels, etc. This is only your second day so don't be too hard on yourself:)0 -

Same here. I don't eat cakes, cookies and stuff like that, only fruit. Any more than one piece of fruit a day will take you over MFP "sugars". I guess I should turn the damn thing off, as suggested by others!0
