Heavy lifting?

I am seeing a lot about this and wondering what people mean by it. Could someone define and tell me the benefits please? I know that when I was in my best shape I was weightlifting more and more consistently. As I have little to lose and am mostly seeking to shred some fat and get some definition, I am thinking this might be what I need.

Heavy lifting is lifting with a weight that challenges you.
If that means the pink .5 pound dumbbell cool. If that means a 315 pound squat is challenging yet possible great.
Example: The other day I was deadlifting 255 pounds for infinity sets of 6. My female workout partner was doing 95 pounds. We were both "lifting heavy".0 -
Lifting weights and putting them back down.
Heavy is relative. What is heavy for you is not heavy for someone else.
Do it!
