How do you get your 8 month old to sleep!

My eight month old has had a pretty difficult life thus far. Pretty bad RSV and hospitalized for a week, ear infections every month and about two weeks ago, got tubes in so the fact that he wakes up every hour, I blamed on those things, and teething. Now, he has the tubes so no more infections, he has four teeth that have cut through and he still sleeps like crap and I'm DYYYYIIING HERE! So someone please help me get this kid to sleep!
So far tonight, I fed him a bottle and he fell asleep drinking it so I layed him in bed. Within 10 minutes, he was awake. So I rocked him back to sleep, a couple minutes later, he was pulling himself up on the crib and wide awake again. So I rocked him again. Same thing again. So then I got him out to play a bit. Put him back to bed, ASLEEP. Now he's crying in his crib again. I have never done the CIO method and not sure if I can do it, although I guess he is doing this method as I type.... fast because it is making me crazy and sad for him. So what other methods will work?? What do you do?? I need to get him to just SLEEP!

Any help would be so wonderful right now!

My 9 month old spent 5.5 months in the NICU and has a gastrostamy (feeding) tube and a hickman line (for IV nutrition, 13 hours per day), had 3 surgeries and lost 2/3 of his small intestine. Point is... he has a lot to be cranky about. On top of everything, he's teething lol.

We all know that most babies are going to respond differently to different soothing methods. What I found works best for my son is gentle swaying while cradling him in my arms and singing "hush, little baby". ONLY that song works. lmao. Just keep trying different positions holding you little one, singing different song, etc.

The only time that doesn't work for us is if he's having severe gas pains, a little infant tylenol and he goes right to sleep. Obviously only try this if your baby is so upset they may be in pain.

Mine had trouble sleeping. He fell asleep in the car. So I learned every 20-30 minute car route around my house. I'd put him in the car seat in the house, put it in the base in the car, and drive til he fell asleep.

He just graduated from high school. It doesn't get much better. Sorry to say.
