I will join the smug brigade - have been retired for 5 years, but never worked Saturdays, I was a school librarian. But I feel for you stuck in the office in the heat, hope you have a cool drink handy.

Count me in! I work at 2 jobs, one as a Marketing Specialist in an Italian restaurant (Mon-Fri: 8am to 5pm) and the other as Creative Director/Advertising Manager at my own startup advertising agency where I work 7 days (Mon-Fri: 7pm to 2am, Sat: 8-9am to 2am, Sun: 3-4pm to12mn). Very tiring but I just consider them blessings so I don't complain.

EDIT: I am based in a tropical country so normal temp here is from 29-33C all the way up to 39C during summer months.

I'm working today. 10am - 12 then 4pm till 7pm. I've just tried to pull the other appointment foward but no go, what a bummer!!

And I work commission only, so may not even earn a penny........lol

I'd rather be down the pub!

Bash me if you'd like, but I think that abundance in all aspects is a gift, and work is a gift too. Love what you have -- because others aren't so lucky. I ran across a thought recently: "the things you take for granted ... someone else is praying for."

I think it really is as simple as looking at things a different way.

    I bet you're great fun at a funeral........lol

I love my job, and am blessed to have it.... BUT! I still don't like working Saturdays. I have easy hours "banker" hours, 8-5pm through the week, and only one saturday a month usually, from 9-1pm.

I write the Sat schedule so I work around when I have custody of the kids so it never interferes. Bad part is, my ex is in CA this week and I have to work today. Had to have my BF watch the kids while I'm at work. I'll be thinking of them all morning!!

I work 9a-12p this morning....only 3 hours but it is commissioned so by the time the store is open at 10am, I will have only 2 hours to create some magic....rather be here 8 hours and make some real money.

I have worked Tuesday through Saturday for over 30 years. It was hard at first, but then I learned the joy of having Mondays off when everyone else is working. A regular job with regular hours is a blessing.

I live on a working farm, so I work 7 days a week, and never take vacations in summer. Can't be gone longer than half a day as livestock needs feeding, etc.

    2nd shift today.
But I'm a nurse, so all bets are off.
Plus, I haven't worked in two weeks and got quite the sunburn yesterday, so it's all good. :glasses:

I live in Cleveland- so nice weather doesn't happen often at all around here. It is 72 degrees and sunny right now. I have to work 1:30 to 9:30 tonight and be back at 7am tomorrow morning. Here's the "best" part- ready? Ok, I work in the basement of a large hospital- so I don't even have a window to look out and enjoy the blue skies. Criminals in institutions at least have a small window to look out and see the world. But I am grateful to have a job- since a lot of people don't have that to complain about. I would REALLY just love a window :ohwell:
