There simply wasn't enough evidence and conflicting testimony for him to be convicted.

I am not surprised one bit.

There is no rule broken yet, but people are so emotional about this trial that there will be personal attacks abound pretty shortly.

They less they know about the case, the more emotional they will be.

Your topic deals with the system/government which is a controversial topic that can spark inappropriate opinions. Unless we can have a civilized conversation about this subject then mods will have no choice but to ban this thread. There are a lot of uncivilized people on this website if you haven't notice :)

He should have been found guilty of manslaughter. This jury failed.

Color me shocked, I figured he'd get manslaughter
Hopefully no one tries to kill him in revenge, but I'm not optimistic

Interesting that everyone is saying no evidence etc to convict rather than evidence showing innocence...

I, uh, wish him the best of luck getting back to his life as he knew it. I think that will work out well for him. Yup. Really well.

Technically, our legal system is set up "Innocent until proven guilty." One convicts on evidence of guilt - not the other way around

"Innocent until proven guilty" is the mantra of our courts. He doesn't have to prove his innocence. The prosecution has to prove his guilt.

You don't need evidence showing innocence in the United States legal system, because "innocent" is a defendant's presumed default state.

Meh, only for the interim. He'll go underground for awhile, like Casey Anthony, and then resurface once the public has calmed.

He will likely write a book or do interviews to get money.
