Aches and pains

Ok , have been dieting since only Tuesday am eating 1200 calories and drinking 2 litres of water a day. Up to now have lost 4kg is first week so big loss is normal.

I just want to check if it is normal to have a headache and aches and pains or is this cos of low calorie intake? If normal when can I expect to go away.

It's normal to have a big weight loss the first week. It's not normal to have aches, pains and headaches unless you've also started a new exercise program as well. Did you give up coffee, tea or soda's as part of your diet? Caffeine withdrawal has some of those symptoms.

Caffeine is all I could think of too.

I experienced dull never ending headaches when I lowered my caffine intake (4-6 cups of coffee to 2). Eventually my body readjusted and the headaches stopped. If the headaches don't stop or lessen soon, try upping the cals a litte. You will have to play around with it and see what happens.
If I work out more than usual, my body lets me know it's too much, I get aches in my joints.

I I was on a roughly 1000 calorie deficit I did not feel very well. I can't remember the exact symptoms. But I made a mental note not to go past -750 again because it didn't seem to work for me.

You could try going up a couple hundred and see if you feel better.

But I would like to point out this is not a conclusive test. For one thing aches and pains have a way of coming and going on their own. And the placebo effect is powerful.
