Weight gaining snacks/meals

For all my stick people trying to put on some pounds.
Do you ever realize you've wound down for the night, had your breakfast/lunch/dinner or after workout meal, and your still short for your daily intake. It seems I struggle everyday with that few hundred calories. Nearing bed time I find it hard to pack my face with potatoes so does anyone have any advice? Some snacks or small meals you eat through the day to get those extra cals/carbs in?

    Go for the calorie-dense foods:

    a handful of nuts
    a couple tablespoons of nut butter
    dark chocolate
    full fat cheese
    a glass of whole milk
