Seriously, search secret diet drops on facebook and read the lunacy. Then go to the website and read the ingredients in the drops and then the diet plan you are meant to follow... I wonder where the miracle huge weight loss comes from...
1st 2 days load up on sodium rich food (no wonder they have 10lb losses of water the 1st week, though they swear it's fat)
Then for the next 3 weeks eat a small amount of meat and 2 veg a day (low carb without the fat anyone??)
Then maintenance is bacon, full fat.cream and cheese, nuts, meat and veg (atkins perhaps?)

But do you know what it's not the vlcd and low carb diet, it's the drops!!!

Who wants to become my business partner and sell magic fat fairy water???

I'll join you in your little scam, I mean serious weight loss aid. Sadly some people are so gullible, especially when they have weight to lose for the summer.

People get so desperate when they want to lose weight, though, that I'm not surprised people fall for stuff like this again and again. It's a shame though because stuff like this really isn't needed

That's a new one, not seen scammers actually go so far as to do that to get their huge scale weight drops before

Rabbit starvation anyone? Low fat + low carb for long periods = insanity followed by death. Well, this won't happen in 2 weeks but some people really do try low fat low carb diets in the long term....
Then maintenance is bacon, full fat.cream and cheese, nuts, meat and veg (atkins perhaps?)

yeah sounds like recycled atkins with a bit of dukan diet thrown in (the low carb low fat phase)

Magic drops it is of course, always. I think unicorn urine works better than fat fairy water, I mean it alliterates better and everyone knows unicorns are magical creatures.

Yea but unicorns aren't real... Common we have to make it believable.

What I didn't understand is how people can fall for it but then I realised no one actually read the website or it's disclaimers.
And at £35 a pop it's not cheap.

Isn't this the "diet" where you eat at 500 calories and take pills to convince yourself that it's the pill doing the work?

It ain't the pills. It's the fact that you're eating well, well below medical starvation levels (roughly 900 calories a day.) Eating at starvation levels is bad for you. Eating below that is sheer lunacy.

You're paying money for a placebo and eating at what anoretics aim for.

    Not a good idea.

Yes, we definitely have to do that. We'll use my beach house in Mesa, Arizona as home office.

I take a minimum of 64 oz of Dihydrogen Monoxide Miracle Drops a day combined with regular exercise and 2000cals, it has worked wonders

Mel well we will need a US base too seeing as the secret diet drops came from the usa.

The cakelocker so you are into voodoo rather than miracles ;-)

Great! Just let me know when you're open for business!
  • I like the picture for the Testimonials - quite clearly those women are professional bodybuilders judging by the size of their upper bodies. If I drink the magic fairy sweat drops, will I become a beefcake too?

we can always add zero calorie sweetener to the unicorn urine, and a couple of mermaid farts, and that should do the trick, but IF I go partners with you, there's a couple of stipulations in the partnering contract that are a must :

    1. fat fairy drops and unicorn urine will be sold at a packaged discounted rate of only 3 payments of $39.99 plus shipping..
    2. the sham wow guy has to do the info-mercial
    3. all before and after photos must be as follows: before picture is from the mid 30's age ( when they were at their worst health. after photos are from their teen years, we can CGI the face to match the age. and I have a cousin who photo shops for one of the best fit-magazines, who can alter the crap out of anyone who isn't up to par.
    4. with a no money back guarantee .

the rest we can work out with our attorneys. I'm exited

(please not this is a joke, WARNING: Any photo shop images should not be attempted by an amateur, nor do I recommend unicorn urine in a healthy life style diet, unless you have zero calorie sweetener. All unicorns, fat fairies and mermaids are protected species and in no way have been harmed in the making of these products. All the diet supplements in this company were not tested on animals, we used leprechauns'...they're fine...I think.)

We need to appeal to the british demographic too.
Possibly get a z list british celebrity to endorse it too?
  • I made an account here to thank every one of you for your posts regarding this fad diet *kitten*. My mother is desperately trying to lose weight and she found this companies FB page and was instantly intent on buying 3 bottles of ''secret diet drops''. It pains me to see how gullable she can be and how quickly she can fall into a trap. But this thread saved her a lot of money and helped me convince her within 2 minutes. THANKS!

Please, to anyone considering buying the ''secret diet drops''. Don't.

I still maintain that unicorn urine works better

and lauramajella2.......... here's something to try. Do all of everything exactly the same, but without the secret diet drops, and see what happens. You'll get the exact same results because it's the food on the plan that results in the weight loss (mostly water weight loss), not the drops. The drops are nothing but snake oil (expensive snake oil). Go on, try it and see if you don't believe me. Seriously, you need to believe in yourself and your own ability to lose weight without needing any kind of gimmick, fad or snake oil. And you think it's bad people on here making fun of this diet...? What do you think about the fact the ones selling it are basically taking the blatant pee out of everyone who buys the stuff, believing that it actually works... they're nothing but con artists, and they know this stuff doesn't work.

BTW water weight loss happens regardless of how much water you drink. On any diet you lose some water weight. On a crash diet or low carb diet, you lose a lot of water weight. It's how the body works, and it's got nothing to do with how much water you drink.

I'm really glad that the message is getting through to some people at least!! :drinker: hope she's now considering trying to lose weight the healthy and sustainable way. maybe she'd do well with an MFP account (if she doesn't have one already)

set your MFP calorie goal to lose 1lb a week, weigh your food, log it on here, stay under your calorie goal. Do some kind of exercise that you enjoy, log and eat back 80% of the calories (I say 80% because MFP tends to overestimate calorie burns)

stick to that in the long term, 1lb a week may seem slow, but what do you want... to lose the weight and keep it off for life, or to lose it quickly then put it back on again. Focus on sticking to this way of eating and the exercise you choose for targets of one week, three weeks, six weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, forever.... when you reach your goal weight, reset your calories for maintenance and eat that amount until you're so much in the habit of knowing how much to eat that you don't need to log/track your calories any more and you can just eat it.

you can eat whatever you want so long as you stay under your calorie goal... although for health reasons, try to ensure you're eating plenty of protein, healthy fat, healthy carbs, vitamins, minerals, fibre and water. After you've ensured all that is in your diet then you can eat what you like to make up the rest of your calories until you hit your goal amount. Aim to be within 100 calories of your goal every day.

You should start to lose weight slowly and steadily, and gradually progress towards your goal. You should find that you can still enjoy all the foods you used to, though perhaps in somewhat smaller amounts. You should find that you have tons of energy and feel great, and that you don't feel deprived. You should find it easy going and that you'll be able to stick to it for life. Sticking to it for life = saying goodbye to the excess fat for life.
