I'm on maintenance, but have to keep my calories set at 1,200 so I'll eat 1,700. My brain works like this:
Under 1,200 - Are you sure you're not hungry?
1,200 - You can stop eating now if you want to.
1,500 - Stopping now would be a good idea.
1,700 - All right, knock it off!
Over 1,700 - You're going to pay for that.
Over 2,000 - Have you lost your gorram mind?!
Who else does this? Someone please tell me that I'm not alone.

She said "gorram"...
The last few days, I've been a pig of a food addict. The only saving grace has been that I've really hit the cardio hard the last two days.0 -
Haha you are not alone!0

That is too funny. I wasn't seeing the results I expected when I set my goal in MFP to lose 1 lb/week, and I think it's because of going over on the weekends. So I set my goal to lose 2 lb/week, with hopes that that will give me the margin for error that I needed to attain 1 lb/week. So far, my logic worked. LOL.0

that would be one GREAT way to sum it up for me....I like a little extra indulgence once in a while... and yes, I go over. nowadays I definitely am more conscious what happens after 1200..... and if it does skyrocket... a workout Must happen.0

It's like setting your alarm clock ahead a few minutes so you won't be late.0
-
Hey, if it works, it works. Nothing wrong with doing that.0

Strangely enough Im having more success at 1800-2000 than I did at 1400-1500. It's great :happy:0

This is me, I'm in maintenance also but still have it set on 1200! Mind games.0

Before I even saw this response, my response was "Nope, never been at maintenance but I'm giving you points for "gorram"" LOL0 -
I think I have a BDD issue and would be devastated if I saw my calorie numbers turn red.0

I LOVE "gorram."
And I'm delighted to know that it's not just me. Shiny!0 -
Over 2,000 - Have you lost your gorram mind?!
OMG! Firefly reference!
Carry on.0 -
Have you lost your gorram mind!? Hahaha, didn't even faze me when I first read through.
I'm at maintainance, too. I keep my calorie goal at 1800 but I keep my lower limit in mind at 1600. I can stop around there if I don't feel hungry, but that hardly ever happens. For me it's also about keeping an eye on my macros which are set off that higher calorie goal. But that's a great mind trick if its working for you.0 -

LOL.. yep I keep hitting the "snooze" button too... When a scale day is looming , I try to knock a bit of sense into my brain!!!!0

That is me... I like being under my goal by a bit to boast my self esteem. If I saw the red, I would want to give up and binge.0 -
jw - you like getting beat up , don't you....
Not enough I guess.
I just don't get the enduring Firefly love. The show didn't even make it through a season because nobody liked it. Might have successful with a decent personality playing the lead role.0 -
Actually, I was refering to the blatant crossing of genres, but I'll bite.
Mal is amazing and wonderful and HOW DARE YOU suggest otherwise.
Fox always messes up and cancels their best shows.
You don't run a new sci fi series against SG1, that was just stupid.
There, have I hit every brown coat cliche possible?0 -

These are not the carbs you are looking for.0 -

I'm not a die hard Firefly fan - I can do without the series, but I LOVE the new words. I get sick to death of hearing people say "epic," "awesome," and "hilarious." I really needed "gorram" and "shiny."0
