Any Whovians out there? :)

Like my new ticker? Just watched this episode last night. So dumb, but part of me really hopes my muffin top turns into alien babies.

  • Lets chat about Doctor Who. Favorite Doctor, episode, character, line, etc.

I for one LOVE Strax. And separately, the line: "I'm the Doctor, I'm worse than everybody's aunt!"

I really really wanted an Adipose after that episode. I didn't care if it came from me or not. I am still considering ordering a stuffed one from online.
  • Yeah, I think the benefits outweight the creepiness of having your fat wave at you and run away. Beats not eating donuts! LOL

Whovian since 1980 here :-) Favorite Doctors are Tom Baker and Matt Smith.
  • Matt Smith is great, highly underrated. I haven't watched much classic Who yet, but I hear everyone loved Baker. I did make the mistake of watching a few episodes from the 80s or so with the 6th doctor... they were terrible!

LOL yeah Peter Davidson and Collin Baker were pretty mediocre, Peter was WAY better than Collin though. Tom was kinda quirky but could get very serious when he needed to, but was always polite enough to offer his enemies Jelly Babies :-)

My favorite Doctor from the new series is Matt Smith but the Blink episode was friggin' awesome and easily the best IMO with The Eleventh Hour a close second. Funniest post regeneration "figure out who I am" scene.

*raises hand containing 10th Doctor sonic screwdriver to increase the awesomeness of the thread* Sonic screwdrivers are cool. ^_^ Really, really wish mine were real with a TARDIS to go with it. :-D Favourite Doctor = David Tennant, Favourite Companion = Donna Noble, Favourite Adversary = Weeping Angels (thank you for finally ending the fecking Amy & Rory Show :drinker: ).

I've still yet to see about 1/2 of the classic episodes. I'll see them all eventually. :-)

I'll just sit here and think about John Barrowman for a while. And curse that he married his husband. Damn you Scott Gill. :)

I watched a Nerdist podcast with him last night from Comic Con where he got drunk and kept grabbing boobs and talking about poop. I feel out of bed laughing. It hurt. Haha.

    Total Doctor Who nerd.

i love dr who, only watched it since ecclestone so dont know about the older ones,

best dr was tennant, had some great stories then,
the last series was mostly lame (apart from when clara was a dalek episode)

best companion, clara because she is pretty fit :)

    best enemy, the silence

best episode? maybe the pandorica one, or when the silence came, or the master episode, or possibly even tennants last just because of the ending

best line, "i dont want to go" tennant

feel really geeky right now lol :)

Yep, though for me it is the original series. Don't think that much of the modern version, but then I grew up in the era of the 4th, 5th and 6th doctors. I have been to the 35th anniversary convention, used to write regularly(and receive replies regularly) to quite a few of the original cast, including Tom Baker, spoke on the phone to both the guy who played k-9 and to John Levene who played Benton in the Pertwee era and used to collect everything and anything I could find. Not as huge a fan now as my interest was so intense back when I collected but it is still what I would call 'comfort tv'.

Doctor Who fan! Right here! I love Matt & David! Donna, The Ponds & Rose! Favorite line "I don't wanna go." :(
    I admit it, I cried like a baby :(
Oh yes, and Tom Baker baby!

All Doctor Who fans can add me! Allons-y!

I've been thinking of getting one, too, hahaha.

I've introduced a couple friends to Dr Who and they're now obsessed! I definitely started them with "Blink" as that's my favorite.

I loved Tennant. Smith took a few episodes to grow on me, but he did. I just don't think the stories are quite as good. The new season didn't do it for me. The background story was good, but the execution wasn't up to par, in my opinion.

I take it you like Torchwood? He's very nice to look at - I'll give you that!!

I only know the new series and have a terrible soft spot for David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. Other favourites include Rose and the episode "blink".

I still want to knit myself the "bigger on the inside" shawl (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss12/PATTbigger.php) with both Tardis and Dalek lace (http://kantajour.blogspot.se/2012/10/shawl-for-oswin.html)!
I made a pink Dalek rattle once, just because I could   Here -> http://ravel.me/pandorakick/nsfn8

I personally prefer Matt Smith over david tennat, I just prefer Smiths version of the doctor.
Favourite episode has to be either Girl in the fireplace, silence in the library both parts or blink ( i know all my fav episode are all tennat front).
Favourite character got to be River Song - Spoilers
Favourite Baddy Weeping Angels (before they screwed with them i.e. the statue of liberty, i mean come on?)

Will be interesting to see the 50th episode, which Doctordo you think John Hurt is playing?

I love Tom Baker, Chris Eccleson, David Tennent and Matt Smith.
Donna is my favorite companion, but I get sad when I watch the episodes now.
Captain Jack Harkness was an awesome character and wonderful eye candy :)
There are so many episodes I love, but anything with River Song is always on top.
    River Song is totally amazing!!!

I got my daughter addicted to it too.

I am totally psyched for the 50th.

I totally agree about Matt Smith. I never thought anyone could be as good as David Tennant but he surprised me. He's brilliant and I will be sad to see him go when his time as the Doctor is up, which I hope is not for a long while.

Definite Whovian here... been watching since about 1977 and, much as I love David Tennant and Matt Smith, Tom Baker will always be THE Doctor in my eyes.

I introduced a few people to the Doctor back in the day, and today, my youngest is a huge fan (her favorite is David Tennant). My oldest is a fan, but not obsessed. My middle child wonders how she is part of the family because she doesn't like to read, nor does she like anything even vaguely Science Fiction or Fantasy, Sigh... I guess 2 out of 3 isn't too bad.

I will miss Matt when his time is over in December, but I think he's made the right decision to move on. He's young and talented... it's time for him to try something new. I keep my fingers crossed that the next Doctor will be as much of a pleasant surprise as Matt was. (And I am in the camp that believes the Doctor should absolutely remain a man).

Whovian checking in! I like David Tennant best but I do not dislike Matt Smith. I think Rory was actually my favorite companion because the doctor kept calling him Mr Pond unless I get to count Stormagedon and then I have to go with him for sheer cuteness, plus who doesn't want to be known as dark lord of all. Weeping angels are my favorite bad guy especially in the first episode. Daleks may come in second cause you have to give props to a bad guy that can continue to exist when simple stairs can defeat them. I have seen some of the older series but admit I haven't watched everything.
