For me a high protein snack I love is beef jerky. I make my own that way I know what is in it and normally less sodium then store bought. It is easy to make and cheap compared to store prices too. I use a lean cut of rump roast, trim off the fat from the outside, slice it, throw it in a marinade for about 24 hours (my marinade is teriyaki, a bit of honey, some red pepper flake, onion powder, liquid smoke, and maybe a little soy sauce) after the marinade, take it out pat it dry and lay it out on furnace filters, strap them to a box fan until they are dry then store in a jar.

a 1oz portion of my jerky is about 110 calories, salty, chewy, and best of all beefy!!

Your furnace filter contain fiberglass? Just curious...would that be food-grade filter?

    My favorite smoothie is
.5 cup of tofu smooth silky type
    .5 cup of greek yogurt
    .5 cup of frozen strawberries
    .5 cup of frozen blueberries
    1 cup of frozen banana
.25 cup of ice cubes (make sure your blender can handle ice cubes)
    big shake of cinnamon
favorite sweetener to taste (I use one equal and some maple syrup)
Looks and tastes like a blueberry milkshake!
Serves 2 but I eat this by myself, great for hot summers.

Kind Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew Bars.... I think they have around 200 calories... and they are pure decadence. I also like that Kind bars are natural, the almond and coconut is also good.

Quest Bars for sure. I like that they also have 17g of fibre in them, so double bonus because you don't typically get fibre from protein rich foods.

Not such a fan of bars and protein powders. I like to have beef jerky, crab sticks and hardboiled eggs on hand.

String cheese! Target has light string cheese, 50 calories and 7 grams of protein a piece, very inexpensive. Love it. We have protein bars at our house but I try to minimize the bars and shakes because they are expensive.

Another favorite is turkey salami or pepperoni, nuked to a crisp in the microwave. You'll need to cover the slices in paper towels. It's as satisfying as bacon. I like to throw a couple of slices into my packed lunches, which are based on microwaved frozen veg.

Reserveage Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder - I usually get a solo espresso from Starbucks and add a cup of unsweetened almond milk. It's basically an iced latte for 85 calories and virtually no carbs. Can't go wrong ;)

Quest Bars - questproteinbar.com, vitamin shoppe, or gnc

Cottage Cheese w/ fruit or veggies

Plain Chobani Yogurt w/ almond butter, trader joes cinnamon almonds, fresh strawberries, and fresh blueberries

Trader Joes Pomegranate Greek yogurt w/ toasted oatmeal cereal and cinnamon

I went to GNC and bought a box of chocolate chip and then a box of blueberry lean bars... they have 170 cals 10 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein

the carbs are 22 grams but you subtract the fiber from those and at 12 grams of net carbs they are a pretty good choice!!

    and they Taste Great!!

My favorite by far is the Quest bars. The only place I can find them is GNC.

they are now officially on bodybuilding.com as well (and of course, on the quest site directly). Cookie dough is amazinggggg
    they are also on amazon.

Being paleo, I go for some meat from last night's dinner and almonds to pack up the protein. Or pre-pack some sliced apples/celery and almond butter to go. Yum!
