Modest running clothing?

I'm new to running, female, and Muslim (though not wearing the hijab) and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of modest running clothing that would still adhere to my beliefs? Thank you!

I would say yoga pants/capri, or Nike shorts. and throw on a tank top or a t-shirt. You could check out any department stores for good priced workout clothes too.0

Running tights or capris (if you don't mind them being tight), and long sleeve shirts that aren't insulated or thermal. Under Armour and Brooks make my favorites.
I was curious, so I asked a friend who lived in Senegal for a time, she pointed me to these "skapris", or running skirts with pants underneath

Modesty means different things to different people. 3/4 running rights will cover to the upper calf but are very form fitting. Basketball shorts can go to just above the knee and are really loose. Of course running shirts come in short, long or 3/4 sleeve.
Mid thigh running shorts are easy to find but those may or may not be considered modest.0 -
Personally, I would buy tank tops and wear a mesh jacket over it (so you don't overheat in this warm weather but you're still covered) and running shorts with the tights underneath or just lose workout pants. Forever 21 is very inexpensive, so maybe you'd be interesting in items like these: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=activewear&ProductID=2077517039&VariantID=, http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=activewear&ProductID=2056600065&VariantID=, http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=activewear&ProductID=2000049742&VariantID=, http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=activewear&ProductID=2027704399&VariantID=.0

If longer shorts are ok I like these. Looser and long but good for running.
You could also wear compression sleeves on your calves if you wanted your legs covered.

Yep, I would do normal running shorts/pants and looser shorts over the top of them so they aren't so form fitting.0

It really depends on your definition of modest...
In general I would be more inclined to say that a t-shirt and at least capris are modest. It depends on your culture and your personal comfortability. It's really similar to normal everyday clothing, when you reach a point that you are uncomfortable baring a certain amount of skin... that might be not modest enough for you.
It also varies on whether you are looking for what you find modest, or what your community may find modest.0 -
As far as tops go, FILA has a great selection of long-sleeve and short-sleeve crew neck, sweat-wicking tops. They aren't too form fitting, and still fit well if you feel the desire to go up a size if you want a little more room (I'm smaller-chested, so I'm not sure how they are for other women).
As far as bottoms, what are your desires? Are capris or bermuda shorts ok as far as length goes, and how tight/loose are you looking for? I typically prefer bermudas or capris just because my hips are set closer so longer cuts help with that annoying thigh-rubbing. Both FILA and Under Armour have good options, but the fabric tends to be clingier. I avoid cotton blends as they hold onto sweat and stretch easier, so I wound up having to hold them up while running...not fun!0 -
Danskin capri yoga pants are incredibly comfortable and modest, and a large tee shirt with a form fitting cotton tank underneath to absorb sweat.0

Well if your trying to adhear to oly hands and feet showing then running pants or tights. You could put shorts or a running skirt over that. Then maybe get a under armor shirt that wicks moisture away long sleeved top and wear a tshirt over that0

Tek Gear brand sold at Kohls has looser fitting tops that I have found comfotrable while running.0

My mother's Muslim friend does not wear the Hijab either. For her, modesty was about not drawing attention to her figure. She wouldn't use form-fitting exercise clothing like I wear to the gym. Her shirts, though not necessarily long-sleeved, were loose around her body and longer that her hips. Her pants fit tight (so as not to hinder) but the long, large shirt effectively covered what she wanted too.
I see a lot of women dressed this way at the gym. I think a running skirt would be really nice.0 -
Men's UnderArmour shorts are much longer and less form-fitting than women's, and quite comfortable. If showing skin is an issue, you could wear tights or leggings under them.
Or... I would melt in stuff like this, but perhaps your climate permits?

You're fortunate that you aren't required to adorn your hijab. All I have for you is my basic go-to when needed, which should allow you the flexibility to remove and/or adjust to suit you.

I'd wear running tights with either a running skirt or shorts over and a long sleeve technical shirt with a looser fitting short sleeve over. I know the website casualkosher.com has longer running skirts. Personally I never wear anything over the knee or elbows and I'm still comfortable in the heat. Or if it's really hot out I go in the very early morning.0
