I logged it as a joke once so it would show up of "Highervibes burned 5 calories during 30 seconds of sex" or something like that LOL

Hmmm perhaps log it under "Jumping" in the MFP exercise diary? lol

I've read a ballpark of 225 calories are burned per 30min of sex. The foreplay burns the calories so make it a fun rowdy & wild romp for maximum burn

I don't log them but its nice to know in the back of my mind I get that extra calorie burn most nights. That's gotta be worth one oreo cookie indulgence right?

Lol, actually she is fantastic. But without getting explicit, due to anatomical requirements, it's usually men who do more work.

Maybe if I put it this way: Women = More like Yoga ... Men = More like cardio and weight lifting :)

so women who have female lovers never do any work.

    Sure. Okay. ; )

Ok, lol... well that's different rofl Actually I figure you ladies need to work double time lol

HA! These are cracking me up!

I have a friend that has "bedroom time" ALL the time, and she is still overweight, so I'd say don't log it.

I decided to log it. It is a great way to burn calories IF you are an ACTIVE participant! If it's just that occasional quickie to hold him over til later and I don't really do anything, then no, I don't log that. <grin> After all, there is a category for preparing food, and I put a lot more energy into sex than I do cooking! I put it as fooling around, but should probably change it to something a bit less obvious!

In addition, it will put an end to him saying 'but we haven't done it since blah blah' (only takes 3 days for him to say) and me not knowing if he's right! lol Because now I have a record of when it was.

Anyone who wears a fitbit or the like can tell you, the calorie burn isn't much. It's fun to imagine, but it just doesn't burn that much.

On FitBit there is a group that teases about this. One of the ladies started it by saying she logs it under badminton. Some in the group have taken on the challenge to up the calorie burn, but it's still a joke, the number of calories burned no matter how "active" you are (man or woman).

I prefer to count it as regular activity.

I wear my bodymedia fit day and night.... I burn more calories doing the dishes than I do during 30 minutes of "bedroom time"... and How would you log that anyway?? Sexual intercourse- moderate effort ????

Where I come from, you NEVER put in a moderate effort! If the police don't show up, you're not doing it right.

I was going to wear my heart rate monitor to bed but my wife threatened to cut it off. I'm not sure if "it" was the HRM or something more near and dear to me.

Lol without getting explicit, due to anatomical requirements, it's usually men who do more work.

Maybe if I put it this way: Women = More like Yoga (with the exception of a certain quad intensive movement...) & Men = More like calisthenics and weight lifting ;)

I dunno, as a girl I can definitely testify to intensive for quads, calves, full arms and shoulders....if you've only experienced a woman doing one quad intensive movement and then staying fairly still the rest of the time I'm gonna have to agree that you might need to start searching for a new one.....or get a book or something....

I saw an article somewhere- probably on the Huffington Post- that sited research about "bedroom time" not really being as much of a calorie burner as people give it credit for. Take that however you want.

I always wanted to know the answer to this question and wonder if my SO would consider letting me wear an HRM during to see what my burn is when I am putting in the bulk of the effort. I know he gets sweaty haha, so he is definitely working for it.
  • I just leave it for bonus calories burned... not that concerned to figure out how much it burns, why drab up a good thing? ;)

Depends how adventurous you are. I heard of one couple (and no, this isn't a confession!) who liked to pretend the husband was a burglar 'breaking in' and having his wicked way with the wife. Surely shinnying up the drainpipe to the second floor must count for something.

I've worn my HRM monitor before b/c I wanted to know how many cals I was burning and how high my heart rate was. Don't judge me. I wouldn't log it, but it's I sure feel like it's an extra workout on top of my other workouts. :blushing:

It burns more calories if you have to subdue your partner first.
