trying to lose weight and eat healthy with Lupus

Hi I am 51 years old and have lupus/connective tissue disease and I have gained about 25 pounds in the last 3 years since I was diagnosed.

I see many people ready to exercise and work out but taking a shower is hard for me. I am in a lot of pain everyday, the fatigues is so severe and as of the last year we add COPD so I get shortness of breath really easy but I want to do what I can.

I just weighed in at 207 and I am only 5'4". It is time for change. I know that the medication and the fact that I am in bed most of the time have contributed to the weight gain and yes I have been depressed but I am tired of THAT.

I want a life again. I want to do what I can. I want to lose 67 pounds but am starting with a goal of 27.

If anyone out there is fighting this same battle please let me know. I am finally ready to FIGHT BACK.

Tammy
