Crazy Cravings

I don't know what my problem is, but I have been having crazing cravings lately (no, not preggo). I just want my old comfort foods like chips & popcorn. Pretty much anything salty. I also gave up soda & I'm kind of craving a diet coke.
I don't know what to do! I haven't had those kinds of things since May..

Welcome!

You are missing the sodium from the soda.

I'm one of those people who once I ban something I just end up craving it and when I put that off, the cravings get stronger leading me to overindulge. So if it was me, I'd just go get a diet coke, some chips, popcorn, whatever. I follow the mantra of everything in moderation.

how are you doing on your sodium intake? you crave what you need (sometimes) I was craving salty too and noticed I had been way under for a few days but when that craving hit I just couldnt control myself (2 bags of popcorn later i was over my sodium by double)

There's nothing wrong with having a little un-buttered lightly salted kettle corn to quiet that craving!

If you're logging all of your food I think you're hungry. Maybe try upping yours calories each day or personally I just eat a 1,000 or so calories more than I usually do whenever I start to see signs I'm not eating enough -- like having cravings, being cold or tired etc.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I have a desk job & an emotional eater, so if I let myself I will sit & eat a whole bag of chips. It's a slipperly slope for me so even though it might be okay to do it just this one time I always worry.

I opted to go get some goldfish & some flavor packets for my water to give myself some extra flavor period. I had less than the serving size of the goldfish & gave them to a friend for safe keeping until I can have some more. That may seem extreme, but it works for me! :)

Good strategy - you have to find what works for you!
