More Weights, Less Cardio - Advice Please!

Hello!
So, I have been going to the gym for a few months now and I like it. A couple of weeks ago I began on the weights (previously I was just doing the cardio room and light swimming.) and I really like them.
I have to admit though, I do not particularly enjoy the cardio stuff, mainly because I get bored. I am going to be walking much more now due to not having a car any more.
So, I am wondering that if I increase my walking - it will be at least 2.5hrs more walking a week, likely to be more - and carry on with the weights, I can skip the cardio but still reap the benefits?
I am doing all this to aid my weight loss, improve my overall fitness and to tone up a bit.

What benefits are you trying to reap? This depends largely on your goals. When I'm really focusing on my strength training, I do just enough cardio for heart health...basically walk 30-45 minutes 3x weekly...don't do much more than that. But that all changes when I start ramping up for racing season...obviously I have to ramp up my cardio a significant degree if I want to be remotely competitive.
If you're just talking about calorie burn...use your diet for weight control; exercise for fitness. Cardio is just weight lifting for your heart and cardiovascular system. Any fitness regimen worth it's salt should have elements of both cardio and strength/resistance incorporated.0 -

Any benefits really! Well like I said I will be doing at least 40mins walking 5x weekly. I don't want to just calorie burn, in regards to my weight while I would like exercise to help it I don't need it to "buy" me more calories, if you see what I mean. I mainly want to increase my fitness and just generally a bit more toned0 -
Should be just fine with that plan as long as you adjust calorie intake.
A lot of people dont seem to realize that you get a great cardio vascular workout from lifting weights along with the other benefits.
Cardio is great for burning extra calories, working on endurance and conditioning or training for specific events but not necessary for weight loss, body composition changes.0
