I thought I'd post this as I was extremely happy with my run last night.
November last year I was 212lbs (I'm 5ft 7), I was on high blood pressure medicine. I could just about run a mile but it killed me.
I started training for a half marathon a few months ago and last night I ran my first Sub 20 minute 5km.
I did 5km in 19:03 with an average of 6:08 min/mile
Next goal!! 5 Minute Mile and half marathon in 1h:40min

That's twice as fast as I run (38:03 5k 2 weeks ago). Good luck in your half marathon! I just signed up for my first 8k!0 -

Awesome victory! I'm working on Runkeeper and doing the C25K and my best mile so far is like 23 minutes so you're kicking my butt!0

I would have never had believed it this time last year but it seems I'm not that bad at running.
I saw a quote the other day which I love. The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.
I think this has now become my personal mantra0 -
Glad you found your stride! I hope to one day get a sub thirty minute 5k! Also, I'm training for a 1/2 in October. I'll be happy to finish with no walk breaks0
