question for tofu eaters!

I eat tofu every once in a while but not too often. today I was going through my fridge and I found an unopened package of nasoya extra-firm tofu that had obviously been long-forgotten - it is a bit past the "use by" date, but still within the month. my question is - would you still eat it? it's unopened, and has been in the back (coldest) part of my fridge the whole time. as lame as it sounds, I hate to be wasteful, but also don't want to make myself sick. I'd be stir frying if I do end up eating it. thoughts?

well - I would eat it - but I've been a skip-diver in my time and survived quite a few packages you describe.

My premise would be if it's not green and furry or fizzing, then it should be fine; but that's not 100% reliable - the bucks stops with you!

pulled back the wrapper & it looked (and smelled) fine. stir fried it, ate it. it was delicious. no regrets.
