The road ahead.....

Hey all,

One thing i am not sure about is what sort of calorie intake i should be maintaining without going into "starvation" mode in the process. I have checked several websites and have come up with 2 different outcomes.

Would like to hear from anyone knowledgeable in this area to point me in the right direction on calculating this correctly.

Rob, we'd certainly need a lot more info about you before anyone could help you with that. Info like age, height, current weight, target weight, exercise routine (how often, what type), type of job (is it a desk job or is it an active job where you are on your feel moving all the time).

But you are right. The last thing in the world you want to do is to eat too little shut your body's metabolism down. Cause restarting it can take years.

ETA, you can either post it here so others can see and post their own opinions or send me a message and I'll get back to you with my opinion. But if you post it here, others will be able to chime in. And others would need the same info. Guaranteed.
  • Much appreciated leebesstoad.

    Details are as follows:

    Height - 6ft (182cm)
    Weight - 293lbs (132.9kg) Target - 205lbs (93kg)
    Age - 42
    Exercise - Very little
    Sedentary - Desk job

Wanting to gradually lose 1lb a week, one site recommended a daily Calorie requirements of 3024, another said 2800. At the moment i am maintaining an 1800 calorie intake but it definately has its moments. Would appreciate the guidance here.
