How often should I exercise?

Seems like there are so many different opinions on this - some say every day is ok, some say give your body a rest now and then... what do you think? I usually work out for 4 or 5 days, then take a break for a day or on rare occasions two days, then get back to it. Sometimes I will take a break when I am feeling especially sore or fatigued, but never more than a day or two.

    It depends what you're doing. The more intense the exercise, the more rest you need before you do it again. But you do always need rest days at some point, unless by "exercise" you mean "moseying around the office for 5-10 minutes a day".

    I spend so much time in an office chair, I try to do SOMETHING every day.

    By exercise I mean, I do 45 minutes on the elliptical at the gym, and then every other time I go, I use the weight machines for 45 minutes to an hour.

    I work in an office too so I look forward to the end of the day when I can actually move! I usually do most of my exercise on weekdays because it's easy to work it into my daily routine.
