Beginners Challenge.... 50 miles in August

I want to play!!! 50 miles is a lot to walk/jog/run since I don't tend to walk/jog/ or run, haha. I can start hiking more with my dogs, so that should help contribute to the 50!0

In July, I achieved 50 miles of walking with 3 days to spare which was a first so I am going to challenge myself to wak 60 miles in August.0

Since we moved, I miss my running partner (and having to be accountable to someone to show up and get my run in!) so this is GREAT for me - I'll shoot for the 60 mile goal (combination of running and walking.)

I have a fitbit, which tracks my steps and miles/day. If I get 2 miles in a day, should I should I count that for this challenge, or should it be miles that are an additional effort?0
