I use Six Star Pro Nutrition Whey Protein powder (available at Walmart -in flavor of your choice) and unsweetened almond milk (only 30 calories per cup). You can put it in a blender with ice and add spinach or fruit or whatever.

As far as protein bars, I really like one specific kind in Pure Protein and I've only found it at Target (haven't looked online), it's called Double Chocolate Vanilla Crunch. I also use Life Choice Peanut Butter Extreme (found at Walmart on aisle with cereal / granola bars), but I see you don't like nut flavors. Life Choice also has a double chocolate and chocolate mint, but I didn't really like those.

Body Fortress Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein powder-1 scoop
    1/2 cup skim milk
    1 tbsp. peanut butter
1 tbsp. Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder

About 285 calories...you can drop the peanut butter and replace the skim milk for fewer calories. But overall great taste. Throw some ice in it to make it more like an ice cream treat.

I go to a bar called MacDinton's, great drink specials and a live DJ that I can shake my booty to!

Hmmmmm....on a second look at the context, I may be off
You beat me to it! LOL

The recommendation is any fuel high in amino acids - I love the GNC MAX Protein protein powders - a bit expensive but VERY tasty & low in carbs! Good luck!

I find that an apple and a medium sized banana does the trick for me. Either as fruit on its own, or in a blender with milk and honey. Gives me the energy and stamina that I need.

    super easy, cheap, and good.
EAS whey protein powder (chocolate) I've seen it at target, CVS, walmart, costco, all those places, it's cheap usually likr 15-20 for a big tub, it has 26 grams of protein and little else, it has 150 calories, it tastes like cold hot chocolate (cause you know how hot chocolate is less creamy than chocolate milk) if you mix it in water, if you mix it in fat free milk it tastes like chocolate milk. Blends really well in a blender bottle, and if you wanted more like carbs a banana with it is good, or if you wanted more fat then peanutbutter or another nut butter would be good too.

How does Chocolate Milk sound too you?

Nice big glass of low fat milk and chocolate nesquik just the ticket

this is what i do. protein powder gives me horrible gas so i had to give that up and switch to chocolate milk. the combination of the protein/fat/carbs is perfect for refueling.

250ml skimmed milk and 1 tsp of cocoa powder - the best quality chocolate milk you can get and it's cheap and natural! Obviously you could up the amount of milk if you wanted a few more calories and more protein.
