I'm a cereal freak. A FREAK, seriously. But I try to choose things that are lower in carbs and higher in fiber.

Barbara's Bakery Shredded Spoonfuls -- 32 grams carbs, 5 grams fiber per cup...so a net carb of 27
Nature's Path Heritage Flakes -- 32 grams carbs, 7 grams fiber per cup....net carb of 25
Kashi Go-Lean Crunch -- 37 grams carbs, 8 grams fiber per cup...net carb of 29
General Mill's Fiber One Chocolate Cereal -- 33 grams of carbs, 12 grams of fiber...net carb of 21

My early breakfast is a shake, I cycle to work so need something light on the tummy. Then I'll have some nuts and seeds around 10 to keep me going till lunch. Breakfast cereals are good for those who can use up the glucose, anyone else will store it.

Eggs, peanut butter on wholemeal toast, Porridge, Oats and fruit, Fish and veggies.

Depends what time you have and what your stomach can handle. I can't abide sweet things that early, so lightly salted porridge is a weekend breakfast when I'm not cycling at 7am.

When I work I drink a carnation instant breakfast that I make with 1% milk. I start work at 6:15 and try to sleep as long as possible as I am not a morning person! So it doesn't leave much time for breakfast. This normally ties me over until I have lunch around 10:30/11. When i'm off. I normally have eggs. I make 2 egg sandwiches using healthy life 35cal whole wheat bread, 2 large eggs, 2 slices of kraft singles and 3 slices of jennio turkey bacon. Fills me up and is only around 450 cal.

The only time I eat breakfast cereal is for a snack at night if I have enough calories left over. I'm am a huge cereal eater and would ruin my whole day if I had it for breakfast as I cant just have the little 3/4 cup serving.

Steel-cut oatmeal. You can make it savory or sweet, depending on your taste.

I honestly don't find cereals to be that high in calories if you know what to pick. I enjoy most of the Kashi flavors and find they are decent in their calorie amount for what you get out of them. Sally's makes "generic" versions of famous cereals like Lucky Charms, Golden Graham, and Mini Wheats but in healthier options with lower calories and for the most part I find them as tasty, if not better, because they aren't as sugary. Last but not least, Jordan's Muesli is awesome in taste, has a lot of dried fruit, so it makes you feel less bad for the calories, plus if you eat it dry like I do, you'll even get tired of chewing so it stops you from eating tons of it, lol.

I end up eating again a few hours later so I'll admit cereal is not the best if you want something that will last you for hours but if you plan on having a snack in the not-too-distant future, it's worth it imho. So far it has worked perfectly for me.

I almost always have a protein shake.

1 scoop of protein powder (vanilla - but you can use whatever flavor you like)
1 cup of berries of your choice
    1/2 cup yogurt

so creamy and yummy! Oh and filling!

I refuse to not eat cereal. I love it and will not live without it.
Everything else has to adjust itself around the fact that I'm going to eat cereal for my whole life.

Money can't buy me love and denying desired food cannot make me happy. :)
