IIFYM vs. MFP Macros

Hello all! So i know this has been played over and over, but I figure ill ask again. I decided to use the IIFYM calculator to see how closely it would mirror the numbers MFP gives me, and a few were very different. For example, MFP, on days I exercise, says i should have 406g of carbs, where the IIFYM calculator says i should have 154.5. The same thing for protein, MFP says I should have 110g, where the IIFYM calculators says i should have 275. I guess I figured they would be close, but since they aren't, I guess I'm wondering which one i should believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I was hoping for a bit more of a response, but thank you. I guess I'll keep going with what MFP has for me.0

MFP's macro settings is bs. Don't go by what they suggest for you.
My protein on here is 52g....yes....52g. IIFYM calculations are pretty good. I roughly follow what the iifym calculator suggests for me.0 -
MFP macros are pretty much a joke, especially the protein count. Go with this one: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macronutrients_calculator.htm0

I'd go with the IIFYM calc. I wouldn't trust any calculator that told me to eat 400g of carbs in a day. Right at 150 will be plenty if you're pretty active and a dude.0

You do know you can change your MFP macros don't you? Generally speaking a macros setting of 1g of protein per pound of lean mass, .35g of fat per pound of body weight as minimums. A little more of either us ok and let the carbs fall where they may. I figured my macros in my own then changed MFP settings.0

Thanks All..... I'll take a look and see what some other calculators tell me, then ill change them. Much appreciated!0

LOLwut.
That's irrelevant. You put in your temporary goal based on your calorie goal (which you can easily calculate) and use the macros.0 -
Yep...go into goals and change goals manually0

You can customize your MFP macros to match the IIFYM one's if you want.0
