Playlist help!
So... I think this is probably obvious, but I'm looking for songs to add to a workout playlist. Here's the not so obvious parts:
1. I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop, the occasional hip hop song grabs me, but not usually UNLESS it is Korean... for some reason they just do it better over there.
2. I tend to like Indie music, not to say that's all I listen to because that would be the furthest from the truth (I listen to ALMOST anything, except aforementioned American Hip Hop)
3. I like a varied, diverse, eclectic (and other fun adjectives that mean different) collection.
4. I need music that will pump me up... I'm weight-lifting, so no namby-pamby lovesick ballads
5. Even if the song goes against these guidelines, don't feel afraid to post it... cuz like I said, I listen to almost anything, so you never know, it could be the exception, "and besides, they're more like guidelines than actual rules"
POST AWAY!!

Alright i'll leave you 3 playlists on YouTube which are promo videos for Dance/Electronic music festivals around the world. They feature some of the top artists and their respective top songs, all of which have the beats per minute to boost your workout. Also all the individual song titles are listed in the video description. If you don't like the genre as a whole, you don't really need to browse any of the videos because it's more of the same but if you give it a shot, I never really got into it until I used it to work out.

Thanks! I will definitely take a look, I do like Electronica and Dance music, plus if I'm lucky the hubby might already have some of the music in the playlists so I don't have to go a-hunting to get it
(I'm a pretty huge stickler about buying my music... usually straight from the artists at their shows if possible xD otherwise I use iTunes or the music groups website... whichever works better)0 -
What i've been doing is using my smartphone and using two apps [Spotify and Shazam]. Spotify streams music to your phone and it has a collection of every song you could ever want. It's free for the computer but to have the mobile version it's $10/mo. It's beyond worth it though - there's a 30 free trial.... anyway, I use that plus Shazam which is a music identification app so if I ever hear a song at the bar that i like, i quick open the app, press listen, and it ID's the song. Then just open Spotify and add it to my playlist lol.
The genre has music that is all really hard to ID so at the very least you can use Shazam (free) to figure out what the hell you're listening to lol. Also since you're streaming music with Spotify it'll obviously use part of your data plan and in 1 month of streaming (where I listen to music 2 hours a day via phone) I use 3gigs of data. Again this is all just FYI but it's a great combo if you're open to the combo of membership and data usage.0 -
Thanks for the info, but I actually no longer have a cell phone, so I would actually have to download the songs and load em onto my old school 8 gig iPod xD >_<
At least until my pay from my new job kicks in and I can afford a new cell phone xD0 -
Check out the Drumcode podcast. Free on iTunes, and some nice, fairly dark European techno.0
