Your body uses all liquids to hydrate you.
Lots of controversy here. Some Dr.s and trainers say Only straight water counts.
That makes no sense to me. It goes in as liquid. It gets flushed out as liquid.
If not what does your body do with it? Many people drink no plain water at all.
  • Water counts as water. And it's awesome.

For me if water is the main ingredient and it's not carbonated or has major caffeine, I count it as water. Crystal Light, Mio, Iced Tea and Green Tea, I count them as water.

I don't count soda, alcohol or juices as water. Nor do I count the ice cubes or the water in my smoothie.

IMO because most people (myself included) don't get enough water.... I only count plain water as water hence forcing me to drink more water by itself.

I count anything fluid in water intake --- but if it has calories, I also add it to my diary
