How to workout without getting bulky?

I know that females are not automatically inclined to build muscle and get bulky. However, I find that I have the tendency to build muscle very quickly. I DO NOT want to get bulky. Just from jogging and going to the eliptical, I have HUGE bulky calves and I hate it. My quads are starting to get very bulky as well. What do I do about this? Exercise is the key for me to lose weight so I need to keep up with my cardio.

Also, I have done some light ab exercises and am already starting to see the top of a six pack.

I want a slender body like a Victoria's Secret model with nice lines going down the abs.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think you will get bulky. Females have to eat tons of food and take supplements to "bulk". Try Pilates?

Based on your previous posts and your admitted admiration for thinspo I suspect that your idea of bulky and the rest of the world's are very different.

I'm not trying to be harsh but I think you need help......

Ah, a new question (or is this a repeat as well?)

Having the genetics for their body type really helps along with a little photoshop. Not saying these women don't work for their body, however, they are also genetically blessed.

Yep. We don't get to pick the body type we have. So learn to accept your body and work with what you can.

Don't confuse the "swelling" that happens in muscles as they are stressed and retain water while they repair with actual bulking. One is relatively quick response to exercise and very temporary (take a few days off from training and you'll go back to "normal"), the other is MUCH slower to occur.

As far as looking lean vs bulky... this is largely an issue of self image and genetics. Make sure you have a reasonable and healthy view of yourself, and that your goals line up with your genetics. This, for some, can be exceptionally hard to do.

Be 5'9+ with an attractive face, then be active and get down to around 18-20% bodyfat. Then practice oblique poses and photoshop. Easy peasy.

you won't get bulky, promise:) I work out...with weights *gasp*...and I dare someone to point out where I look "bulky." I'm chugging along on getting more definition in my stomach but can already see those side lines just fine. It's all about keeping a routine and watching what you eat. Don't starve yourself (derp) but don't chow down on a gallon of ice cream a day.

Everyone who wants muscle can't bulk, and everyone who wants to be "toned" bulks quickly. Clearly bulking is more about self image than it is actual changes in muscle/body fat.

Not even kidding. I have my mothers genetics. She is naturally very muscular and builds muscle extremely fast. She hasn't worked out a day in her life and has defined abs with still a 25% body fat.

"Bulky" calves happened because: you're either genetically lucky, or you have been increasingly gaining weight and the calves had to compensate by building up. You're not "bulking up" (for many women this means building muscle) especially on a calorie deficit and especially not doing cardio.

Well the good news is that all that bulk in your calves is fat, not muscle. So don't worry about it.

    Fitness comes from working out.

    Size comes from caloric intake.

If you are eating at a deficit, you will not gain any size. If you doubt this, take measurements.

It is physiologically impossible (barring drugs or medical conditions) for anyone to beome bigger if they are eating below maintenance calories.

    I feel horribly fat.

I never, ever used to think this way. All the images of "thinspo" on pinterest and the web have made me look at my body shape with disgust.

    Height: 5"8
    Weight: 131
    Bust: 32"
    Waist: 26"
    Hips: 33"

My legs are chunky and my stomach has so much fat on it., I want to look like the thinspo girls :( but I just can't

As previously pointed out, you need help. Or, you are a troll. In any event, you should really go elsewhere for advice about how "bulky" you are.
