Why I wish I ate a Turkey Sandwich instead of Panda Express

So I was all excited to have my Panda today (hey, IIFYM!) and figured it into my diary for lunch and dinner since I work two jobs today and usually eat dinner at 3 and then a snack when I get home at 11... Well I ate my panda lunch and dinner and I'm still hungry and now I have to wait till 11 to eat my snack and did I mention I work at a sandwich shop and bakery... mmm ruben paninis... mmm cinnamon rolls.... mmm white chocolate chip cranberry cookies... This is going to be a fun and grumpy shift!! This is why it's better to eat clean and nutrient dense foods! Lesson learned!!

ps. yes, if you look at my diary I could forego my friday ice cream and eat a quest bar or something but that's my reward for eating well and exercising all week (which I did) so I don't want to be hungry and not get my reward. That'll make me really grumpy ;)

What exactly isn't "clean" or "nutrient dense" about Panda?

Steamed Veggies, Green Bean Chicken, & Broccoli Beef sample meal:

    350Calories
    28gProtein
    10.5gFat
    38gCarbs
    Dietary Fiber 10g
    Sugars 13g

Which doesn't include all the micro nutrients from the more than ample amount of veggies in that dish. Not bad at all for 350 calories.

    ETA:

What you ate is even more protein dense, albeit a bit lighter on the veggies since the chicken dish is all meat.

I have to say this is a problem I've never had. Never in life have I had panda express and regretted it later.

The sweet fire chicken breast is tasty as hell.

I agree about the nutrients because like I said I fit it in my macros but maybe its that the portion size was smaller than if I cook my own meals? I don't know, I'm just usually more satisfied after a meal...

This. Several "clean" options at panda. Just a little high on sodium for a daily thing.

Maybe you did something else differently today?

Did you not drink enough water or eat a smaller breakfast?

Or maybe it's psychological. My guess is that it's psychological.

I second the water. Also, don't give up the ice cream. You will still want your reward later.

THIS I can understand...it takes a lot of Panda to leave me "full" feeling.

Choosing Panda express over a delicious deli sandwich is a mistake every single time. No exceptions
