Does your bedtime routine help or hinder your personal goals?

I go upstairs at about 9:30 or 10 on weekends, because i swim at 5:30 am on those days. i take a big honking glass of ice water to drink, read MFP on my ipad (but skip the good forays to avoid getting cravy), keep the lights off, snuggle up with my favorite blanket and two pillows and I'm usually out in about a half hour.

I might check FB but if I get to food pictures I ditch out quickly to avoid eating at night, since I fight GERD and have quit taking nexium.

Boring, I know.

I don't really have much of a night time routine. I normally put my 2 older kids (9 and 20 months) to bed at 8. Then clean the house back up, Snapchat and MFP until the hubby gets home at 9:30, then we either watch a tv show or goof off until 11 ish and then bed. During all this my 2 month old is waking, feeding, and falling asleep. He wakes about 3 times a night to eat and get a diaper change as well.

During the school year, put my daughters to bed at 8:30 pm, relax watching TV to about 10 pm then I head upstairs to pack a lunch if I will be out of the office at clients (if I am in the office I just come home for lunch since I live about 2 miles from my office), then I charge my iPod and pack my gym and suit so I am ready to leave the house by 5:30 am to head to the gym. This is my routine on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (my gym days).

I make dinner, log all my food, get ready for bed, have a night time cuddle or two, sleep. Really not that exciting ;)

A quick couple of minutes on the foam roller, brush my teeth, lay down and do a deep breathing exercise. I never make it through the deep breathing before falling asleep.

My routine varies but normally I put the kids to bed around 7 and then I do a workout and shower. Then I may watch a show or read until I get sleepy, but my kids are usually awake anywhere between 5-7 a.m., so I try to be in bed by 10.
