"Freaky Eaters"

There's some show I'm watching on TLC called "Freaky Eaters", and on this particular episode, this 20 year old girl has a serious cola addiction. She drinks at least 30 cans of cola a day! And she doesn't want to stop. Man, I thought I was bad when I'd go through a 12 pack of Pepsi in two days! Aside from that, all she eats is sugary junk food. She dips her Twinkies in cola! I'm not being judgmental, I know what it's like. My cousin used to live with me and he's a health nut and he used to beg me to stop drinking soda...telling me how bad it was and how much weigh gain it causes. I don't know how this girl isn't extremely overweight.

I saw that episode last night. It made me mad that she didn't think she had a problem and thought she did great going from 30 cans of soda a day down to 24.....I can only imagine how she feels every day. And she was thin! Don't get how that happed being she was taking in 4,000 calories from soda alone.0

OMG, I watched it the other day and they had a girl who will ONLY eat french fries and then another where the guy ONLY eats pizza. The french fry girl literally CRIED when they made her try french fry shaped veggies. It was sooo crazy .. Not being judgemental but I just really couldn't understand how someone could get that obsessed with a particular food. Guess its the same as being addicted to junk. Anyways, I'm wondering if there is any freaky eaters on here? I'd love to talk to one and learn about their issue. I found it extremely interesting.0

I've only seen one episode, but there's another one on my DVR about a guy addicted to raw meat. I'll watch anything! :laugh:0

I saw the french fry girl too! That was crazy! She literally had a panic attack when they had her eat different colored french fries. It's pretty nuts. I guess they did find out that she had a genetic disorder...but that would have to be awful.0 -

She's fighting against everyone, so at that point, I'd be like "Ok go for it...you'll wake up when you are fully diabetic!"0 -
I thought the same thing on her calorie intake, but when I started realizing, her profession keeps her on her feet most of the day so she is constantly moving. Also, we don't know how her body metabolizes food or whatever she takes in. My girlfriend has a six pack, but is always the one constantly trying to get me to eat a cinnabun with her. She barely has fat in her but cheeks for goodness sake! She is just one of the few exceptions. Food affects us both differently. It's just one of those medical mysteries that we will never figure out.0

I couldn't bring myself to watch last night's episodes. The raw meat eater really churned my stomach so I went to bed early instead. The show fascinates me. I know people like that who only eat one thing all day long - I didn't realize so many other people have the same issue.
They show remarkable progress over the week - I hope they stick with the changes.0 -
OMG! I saw that too! Did you see her teeth? They were discolored from it. I was addicted to Mtn Dew, but drank nowhere NEAR what she was consuming. Why wasn't she bigger? It almost seemed scripted to me. Both episodes I watched seemed that way. I don't know. What do you think?0

Academically, I understand, caffeine is the most addictive substance currently known, so OK, someone with an addictive personality might just want to keep doing it. With my schedule between family and work (and school in the spring), I certainly have no intention of giving it up either. But 30 a day is just plain astounding! And just thinking of twinkies in pepsi makes me want to hurl (especially since I have a stomach bug right now).0
