What is the Best Macronutrient Ratio for Weight Loss?

I see many people posting and asking how they should be eating in terms of Fat/Protein/Carbs. This article is pretty spot on, at least in my opinion. I eat minimum 1 gram/lb of lean body mass everyday. Many people frequently question Carbs - they are ESSENTIAL! I don't care what people say about them being bad... it's the TYPE of Carb you're consuming. I get mine from fruits, veggies, whole wheat, multigrain, etc. I do NOT eat bleached flour, white flower or wheat flour. Carbs WILL NOT make you fat unless you eat the wrong ones and you don't exercise portion control/moderation! Also, fat... 20 to 30% based on this article is a fair ratio.
I hope this helps all those that are wondering where to start!
Kick *kitten* everyone!!!

You should probably do some more reading into nutrition if you think that the TYPE of carbs you eat has ANYTHING to do with body composition...0 -
I've done my research... I've used the methods. Look at me... I'm living proof of what I say.0

You've eaten at a calorie deficit and lost weight, you may have also chosen which carbs you consumed, but that is a matter of correlation, not causation. You lost weight because you ate at a calorie deficit, and only because of that...
If you happen to think that it is causation, then how do you explain people who have gotten 45% of their entire calorie intake from granulated sugar and lost weight, or gotten 100% of their entire calorie intake from Hostess snacks, Little Debbie's snacks, doritos, sugary cereals, and oreos and lost weight?0 -
If people are looking to lose weight, yeah, eat at a deficit and eat crap - if you want to be soft.
If you want to have definition and look good and be healthy - this is the way to do it is what I'm saying.0 -

Also incorrect...
You can eat "crap" as you call it, and as long as you're eating enough protein, and lifting heavy in the gym, you will increase muscle definition by preserving muscle during weight loss on a cutting cycle, and building muscle during weight gain on a bulking cycle.
You can also eat "crap" and be extremely healthy. Some people eat fast food regularly, and because they eat at their calorie goal, hit proper macronutrient intakes, and exercise, they have low resting heart rates, low body fat, high lean body mass, immaculate blood tests, and perfect lipid panels with ideal cholesterol levels.0 -
I gained all my weight from over-consuming fruits, veggies, whole wheat, multigrain, etc. I did NOT eat bleached flour, white flower or wheat flour.

the one you find works best. most people start around 40/30/30 and tweak it to see what works best for them.
Im more of a 45/25/30 girl0 -
Actually carbs are NOT essential to the body.
Whereas fat ( essential) and protein are.
The body runs more efficiently on ketones, the brain functions just fine on ketones.
But carbs are not the enemey either, for athletes its a better fuel source. Can lose weight with any macro split you want as long as you eat at a calorie deficit.
