Pre-workout Snacks?

Okay so I have tried working out without eating anything before hand, and it just doesn't work. I feel waaay to hungry once I start doing my cardio on an empty/half empty stomach. That being said, I also can't work-out on a stomach that is too full! I get bad side cramps!

Any suggestions on a good and energizing pre-workout snack?

What do you usually have before a workout?

    I like eating those protein bars or drinking a lot of water. The water satiates my hunger. Or you can have a banana or an apple! It's probably much better than having a protein bar and the sugars will keep you going throughout your work out!

    I get up at around 5am and am in the gym about 30 minutes later. So I have a glass of water and a banana.
