Calorie intake question.

So if some one is looking to lose the weight, but DOES NOT do that much exercise, can they still lose the weight by going off JUST their daily calorie intake?
Or does one need to burn off their daily amount as well via exercise?

All that's required to lose weight is a calorie deficit. If you're eating to your daily goal on MFP your deficit is figured in already. That's why if you do exercise it's logged and eaten back. The exercise is more for fitness.0

I don't really have much time to exercise but I've lost 65lbs so far just with getting better eating habits and calorie counting. I wouldn't say that you absolutely don't need to exercise because it helps keep your muscle mass, but it is possible. Just try to go for walks/weight training as often as your schedule allows.0

A calorie deficit alone will make you lose weight. You exercise for health. Cardio helps your heart and lungs. Weight lifting helps you either build muscle or retain it. Simply a calorie deficit and only doing cardio will cause some of your losses to be from muscle.0

I agree completely! Walking for at least 20-30 minutes a day can dramatically help to tone those areas that need it when you are losing weight! Best of luck!0 -
