What if you don't like hot drinks ?

I can't remember a time when I ever liked hot drinks and I have tried most things to get myself onto them, but for some reason nothing seems to work. Normally if I don't like something I just wouldn't do it and get on with my life, but at the moment I am having trouble with energy levels. I have been to the doctor so many times about this and i've given up trying to get any sort of sense out of them.
My doctors are pretty useless.
So instead of using something like tea or coffee to give me my energy boost, I use energy drinks and caffeinated fizzy pop & mass amounts of sugar. That's not something I'm proud of at all but I really don't know what else I can do.
I've tried bannanas and iron tablets, just about everything I could think of but it has no effect. So maybe getting onto some sort of tea or coffee (I've heard some teas such as green tea are very good for you?) may be a good idea. Any tips ?

I drink coffee/tea often for a quick pick me up. But on occasion, I eat Seaport Farms Energy Blend. It works really well.

why would you force yourself to drink something hot when you don't like it? Tea comes cold--I brew my green tea and chill it. Coffee comes iced. Don't stress the small stuff--there is always a short cut.

Yep. Iced coffee and tea are very normal options for caffeine infusion.

  • I don't care much for hot drinks either. They don't quench my thirst so I don't see a point in them. I like iced coffees, frapps, etc. There's also iced tea. You could also get smoothies places with b12 shots in them or something else with b12. That's supposed to give you energy.

If you don't like hot drinks don't drink them. It is pretty easy, not exactly rocket science.

Have you ever considered your energy levels are low because you are over caffinating during the day with energy drinks and fizzy drinks etc and you are not sleeping properly at night? I find a good night sleep makes a world of difference in my energy levels.

Sorry but I almost thought you were trolling. If you don't like hot drinks, don't drink them. I don't like coffee so I've never had the stuff. Our bodies didn't evolve to NEED liquid energy, if your eating is proper and your sleep is proper and you don't have any nutritional deficiencies, you don't "need" to drink "energy." Look to your diet, sleep and stress levels first, forget the drinks. If this doesn't address it, look to medical reasons. Exercise is also pretty energizing. A 15 minute walk will wake you up better than any cup of liquid (or sugar injections.) And no annoying crash afterwards.

Yep this. The ones I use have about the same as a cup of coffee. That way I can get the caffiene without all the other crap (I don't drink coffee either).

Really ? I didn't know they did stuff like that !
May be worth looking into, if you have more information on this it would really be a huge help :)

You can also buy B12 vitamins at the store. I also have the same energy issues. No matter how much sleep I get, how healthy I eat, or how much exercise I get, I always feel tired. B12 vitamins take the edge off.

Thank you for the suggestion I will have a look into it :) it's good to know that someone else understands :)

I see your point & I did think that this might have been the reason why I was tired during exam season, because I am the first to admit that I relied on liquid energy, much more than I do now, to get me through exams, revision sessions and coursework. I have since had two months off school with no stress and as much time to recover from exam season, but my energy levels are still a problem. I have cut back significantly on liquid energy and I try to get through my day without it, but I tend to find that as soon as I come back from doing some gentle exercise to wake me up I am more tired than when I started and I'm still unsure as to why.

Okay, I've noticed that iced tea and coffee has come up quite a few times in this topic.
I have tried both of them cooled before and it didn't really agree with me, but I've never considered iced coffee or tea before and I will give it a go thanks for the suggestion. Though having said that I did try Lipton's Iced Tea once (not specifically because of this but because it was being given out as a freebee while I was on holiday) and I really didn't like the taste. Are there any other types of iced tea that people like? and also if making your own, at home, rather than buying it from a shop while you're out, what type of tea do you like to ice e.g. earl grey, green tea etc, ?

Firstly I love hot drinks, and recently brought flavoured teas, I'm sure these would be lovely cold. Google something and order online if u can.

I hate hot drinks and I've gotten myself down to one soda a day for a lunch time pick me up. You just need to get the caffeine out of your system and adjust, it's not easy but it can be done.
