Logging While Pregnant, Loving It!

I have to say, that I have truly benefited from logging all around, but especially while pregnant.
This whole thing has shown me what important things that I am lacking in my diet and where I am getting more than I need in other areas. Now I can say I have a very balanced diet and a healthy healthy baby. :)
Though I do not usually reach 2000 calories everyday, I have still succeeded in gaining about 30 lbs. I do notice weight gain besides just a growing belly. My thighs have some cellulite and my jeans that used to fit perfect are now too snug, and my looser jeans fit perfect.
Thankfully with this program I am not 170 lbs like I was at this point in pregnancy with my daughter Natalie. I'm instead at a healthy 157 lbs and I feel great!
I never knew that even though I was eating clean, that I could be going wrong in my diet. Now that my diet is balanced AND clean at the same time, I feel like I have much more energy. Who knew a pregnant lady due in just over 5 weeks could hike 6 miles!

Just make sure you include the calories in your alcoholic beverages.

It's best to choose vodka or a dry white wine and go light on the mixers.

If you do have mixers try to make them diet.

What do you mean by clean?

I am still trying to eat the calorie amount that was my goal for weight loss. I just found out about a week ago I am about 5 weeks pregnant. Since my goal was to lose another 20 to 25 pounds, I don't want to gain too much by the time I deliver. I eat smaller meals and do light snaking.

What an awesome post! One of the reasons I want to get healthy is to try to start a family at my "advanced" age (late 30s) and I plan on logging when/if I get pregnant too to watch my nutrients. I love how easy MFP makes this, I have never paid much attention to it before and it has helped me get healthier in a lot of ways besides just weight loss.

Congrats on your healthy pregnancy and your new addition to the family!

By clean I mean organic and non-processed. As much as possible that is. You are considered a clean eater if you avoid processed foods all together, but of course it is very challenging and depending on where you live, very expensive!
You will do well by using this :)
  • IroningBoard,
I don't have any "mommy drinks" while pregnant.
I have had a couple beers and 1, 4oz glass of wine, but that is all. and of course logging them.
But thank you! I'll keep that in mind for post-baby :D
  • Thanks everyone :) It's been really fun! I'm thoroughly enjoying this pregnancy and I really think it has everything to do with my diet change through My Fitness Pal.
