This is torture. I'm SUCH a nut-butter fanatic! Nothing creamy though (like the Jiff variety they sell here too), but only organic stuff. Cashew, peanut, almond.. tahin paste is awesome too!0

So am I going to be the Debbie downer to say that peanut butter technically isn't a nut butter? I still love peanut butter but I am branching out more this year trying all the other types more. Also if you wanted to get technical about nutrition peanut butter isn't as nutritious relative to most other nut butters. Most of it is due to all the crap producers do it the peanuts by the time it gets on the shelves. They contain aflotoxins which cause cancer (what doesn't cause cancer these days though) and the cheap mainstream brands contain trans fats. Also roasting nuts in general usually causes their natural fats to become rancid and oxidize. So keep your eyes out for raw nut butters if you see any. The natural fats in them should still be stable and in their natural form with all their benefits that everyone hears about.
Seems like most food producers grab a hold of a healthy benefit to a food and advertise the hell out of it but their end product usually has all of it stripped away by the time their done making the product.0 -
I am so sad that I'm allergic to almonds because they are delicious and I can't have almond butter without taking a handful of Benadryl.
I'm going to have to investigate this magical pistachio butter.0 -
I prefer just plain ol' peanut butter.
But I switch it up every once in a while with almond or cashew butter.
I tried sunflower seed butter - blech!0 -
NUT BUTTER LOVER HERE!
I personally make my own (DIY/homemade):
❤ almond butter
❤ pecan butter
❤ walnut butter
I also make them in optional variety of flavors too:
● added vegan dark chocolate chips
● vanilla
● vegan white chocolate
● chocolate
● added vegan white chocolate chips
Unfortunately, these are the ONLY 3 nuts that i'm not allergic to *sigh*.0
