                    Hi everyone
I started using MFP in Spring of 2011 after deciding i'd had enough of being fat. The weight had very gradually crept on, without me even really noticing. I think it began after i gave up smoking, even though i tried to make a conscious effort to not eat extra in place of the *kitten*. Then i saw a photo of myself taken on Christmas day 2011 and saw how big i had got. I had got to 202lb, and didn't have a waist anymore :-( All my clothes were tight and uncomfortable, my bra's made me sore. So i decided i needed to do something about it.
I joined the local gym, and just ate sensibly. I used my fitness pal to make it easy to keep track of my food. I think it makes you realize exactly what you're eating. I haven't stopped eating what i enjoy. I'm just more aware of what and how much. I still eat pizza or curry and takeaway, but not as often. And i exercise LOTS! I walk at least an hour a day with the dogs, go to the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week and i have now started running. Not long ago i couldn't run for 2 minutes, but now i can run for an hour :-) To start with i didn't enjoy exercising, and it was something that needed to be done. But now i LOVE it.
It's been slow progress, and there have been times when i haven't lost any weight for weeks, but it's more of a lifestyle change than a 'diet'. It was my 40th birthday last week, but i feel the best i have for years :-)
I don't know if the photo's will load, but i'll give it a go, sorry if they don't work!

OMG!! I had forgot how bad the Christmas 2011 photo is. That's the one that i saw and decided i needed to do something about my weight. I can see the difference myself now i have seen the photo's together like that. My husband and mum are both telling me i don't need to lose any more, but i feel i would be happy if i lost another 10lb0
