Knee Brace

I want to get into running, but even at a fast walk I can feel the loose cartilage in my knee. And I have a lot of "slack" in my knee joint. It makes it painful to run. Anyone have any advice for a fat guy who is less of a fat guy that wants to get to be a thinner guy?

Depends how bad it is, and whether you know what's causing the movement in the knees?

(fwiw, most research suggests knee braces are ineffective in preventing or supporting recovery from common running difficulties, like runner's knee.)

what has worked for me is strength training to improve the leg muscles that support the knee and I tape my knee with kinesiology tape before each run.

My sister in law uses kt tape. I have runners knee and today started wearing a knee strap. I have also started doing exercises to strengthen my hips, knees, and ankles. I have read weak hips and ankles will put more stain on your knees.
