Is it better to put gas in your car after a drive or to wait till it runs out of gas? Calories are fuel. They are not evil. Keep hitting your MFP calorie goals. If I burn 2,500 calories or 250 calories I eat it all back.0

depends on your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, then no, don't eat them. Just eat your full BMR. If your goal is to maintain, then yes, eat your exercise cals.0

Wrong. MFP already has her deficit included in her goal. Shouldn't be eating less than that.0 -
MFP way is designed for you to eat back those exercise calories. MFP has a deficit built into it already, when you exercise you create a bigger deficit which can be more harmful than helpful if you dont eat those calories back. Too much of anything is bad, even too much of a deficit.0

Sure you'll lose weight. And you'll do it in an unhealthy manner.0 -

Your BMR is what your body need just to survive, like if you were in a coma all day. On top of that we burn calories everyday, from brushing out teeth, to walking to the car, to our job.
Your TDEE is your Total daily energy expenditure, that is what your body burns in total everyday including your BMR, your daily activity including your job and exercise. If you eat less than this number, you will lose weight.
Eating just at your BMR an be far too low for some, especially active people.
As others have mentioned, MFP figures your daily calorie including daily life and your BMR. It does not account for exercise. It expects you to log those calories and eat them back ( I will admit that calorie estmiates can be high so eating a portion of them isn't a bad idea, but at least eat some).0 -

well said. I don't always eat all of my exercise calories back but I sure dip into them more often than not and it's worked for me.0 -
Your body will tell you whether you need to eat them back or not.
If you are not hungry, do not eat them back.
If you are, you probably need to eat them back.
It's not the same for everyone.0 -

And again, hunger is not always a reliable indicator. People who are overwrought report constant hunger when they do not actually need more food. Some anorexics do not experience hunger and they are literally starving. Hormones affect hunger. Low food/low fat intake can affect hormones.0 -

Not if you're following the MFP plan. Then yes...you eat...and yes, you lose.0 -

if you are doing MFP method then you should eat back your exercise calories so that you net 1320...so if you burn 300 you should eat 1620 therefore netting 1320....0 -
