Low-carb bread crumb alternative

What is a good low-carb alternative for bread crumbs? I thought of almond meal, or crushing up pork rinds.

I want to make salmon cakes for dinner but wasn't sure what I could replace the bread crumbs with that would hold together.

Any ideas?

panko crumbs are a little better- lighter and crispier and you don't need to use as much as you would with traditional bread crumbs

Ground Flax! A little higher on the calorie side, but you can't beat the nutritional content (:
Great amount of fiber & protein (:
  • I haven't tried it, but over on reddit.com/r/ketorecipes, they swear by crunching up pork rinds!

I have used pork rinds, they are so good...and I have a hug problem with pork rinds something about them grosses me out! But I use them for chicken parm with spaghetti squash and I've used the spicy ones to make buffalo chicken...do try.

I had a fish recipe that called for ground up plantain chips. I don't know if its low carb but- wow! was it delicious. They just stuck naturally to the fish and we pan-fried the fillets in a little coconut oil.
